Just a Gay on ATRL Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Dua has been performing both of her current singles across the world, releasing MVs, and promoting the songs at large. But in a strange twist, she has yet to announce a peep about the album or when it’s coming. What is she waiting for? The songs may not be mega smashes, but they’re not outright disastrous flops either. Do you all think the album is not coming for a while? Whats going on? 2
Burn Posted March 4 Posted March 4 The way she was speaking about the album when the era started sounded as though the album is complete so don't think there's any issues on that front. The delay is definitely down to the label wanting a hit. 8
Popular Post Escape Posted March 4 Popular Post Posted March 4 Is this going to be a thing now? Beyoncé has only revealed a date & Normani only the title and the cover but no date. 1 14

I hate how labels hold music hostage for smashes. In the streaming era, I think it’s best to just drop projects and let the audience pick their favorites. And if the album underperforms, they can quickly record something else after to start fresh. I personally believe if the GP isn’t feeling a project, it will NEVER click with them no matter how long it’s delayed. Might as well drop it though. In this day and age, tik tok can make underappreciated albums in the present more popularly appreciated later on. The long term investment potential of music now is greater. 24 1

dirrtydiana Posted March 4 Posted March 4 She’s in her “Focus” era with songs similar to FN. Her Dangerous Woman is coming!
dawnettakins Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Waiting for a hit. Single #3 it is. Unless they decide to make Training Season a "promo" single and the next one takes off, then single #2 it is.

brenda-walsh Posted March 4 Posted March 4 she's kinda done the bare minimum prmotion-wise compared to FN era. only two performances so far. she needs to get off her ass 4
UnusualBoy Posted March 4 Posted March 4 This is probably the label, expecting for something to smash but the more they wait, the less hype.
gatito Posted March 4 Posted March 4 she is a label puppet with no agency or say over the direction of her own career, and with two failed buzz singles in a row it's not looking good for miss lipa 1 1 1 7
SweetTalker Posted March 4 Posted March 4 They released her debut with nothing but flops as singles so I really don’t think that’s what it is. I’m sure the album is coming in late May so I guess they wanna wait a bit to announce it? Idk
BrandNewBrandon Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) They could potentially want to re-work a bit of the sound and songs because they're not taking off as they expected and would probably like to avoid a slump in sales. Edited March 5 by BrandNewBrandon
