Gladiator Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I think it is interesting so many people are thinking Selena does anything more than show up to set and do what is told of her. Other people came up with these ideas to either copy or don’t. 2 4 2
Phaunzie Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Can't wait for Selena to pull a Beyonce, and say she was 'inspired' or that it was a homage.

Nico Robin Posted March 2 Posted March 2 nnn this is actually kinda similar But I dont think selena herself came up with the ideas for music videos and stuff she probably was handed a script or whatever
Cameltoe Chariot Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Oooooh this girl came with colour coded, tabbed stacks of receipts and got a standing ovation from the board room after the presentation. This is disgusting. Good on Sarah for speaking out, and shame on Selena and her team for doing this AGAIN. 2 3
aesthetic bih Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Upon listening to Selena's brand new generic single, I thought "wow this is so bland and expected, the last thing she will have is be met with a plagiarism allegation". Oh WOW, I am eating crow's pie as we speak, which is the most bizarre over this boring ass Selena rollout
Archetype Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I usually drag irrelevant artists for making bold claims like this (they’re usually reaching), but this is actually quite similar. Especially the bathrobe + breakfast scene in the same room… it’s too much of a coincidence for them to not have at least checked out her work as a reference. 3
BeingRicardo Posted March 2 Posted March 2 People learn a word on the internet and run with it. Calling Selena a zionist like wtf
Freakshowvato Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) I thought maybe she was exaggerating but damn there were way too many similarities to her scenes for this to be a coincidence…. And this isnt the first time. Not only scenes but even aesthetic and film style was copied. i hope she at least gets compensated or else proceeds with a law suit…. Its ridiculous. And the fact shes Palestinian only makes this even worse Edited March 2 by Freakshowvato

Even the location, its like they were hyper aware and deliberately used her work to guide the entire music video creation and aesthetic.
KOMH Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Shouldn't we blame this on the director as well as the creative team instead? 1
Bubble Tea Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I fear some clear cut plagiarism has taken place, which is depressing. Good on this artist for speaking out. No doubt rabid little idiot fans will be trying to attack her but like... for what? For telling the truth? Spoiler Low key her noting she's Palestinian, which doesn't really have anything to do with anything, was a very clever technique to ensure added sympathy though. I see y'all have run with that. Running around talking about the war and using words like "Zionism" y'all clearly don't understand for... What? 5

You can’t deny these many similarities unless you’re blind not saying Selena copied herself, must have been her team but I’m struggling to believe she was not aware or no one told her.
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted March 2 ATRL Moderator Posted March 2 It would be more convincing if this woman’s art wasn’t so generic to begin with. We’ve seen this imagery a million times before. 3 5 1
Touchdown Posted March 2 Posted March 2 She should just be happy that J Lo hasn't discovered her yet.
ForgottenSoul Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Lmfao nothing that girl did is something that many others hasnt done before? 2
bad guy Posted March 2 Posted March 2 The generation's J. Lo for real (without the performing/acting talent) 1

MonsterTown Posted March 2 Posted March 2 For me, yes did copy her but also yes, both are un-original scenes that we saw a lot of times even in movies.

Erreur2 La Nature Posted March 2 Posted March 2 These accusations are usually a reach but after looking at this girl's work it certainly looks like Selena copied it
