This. People are harsh with it because they expected something more experimental from her, but if it was an album by Dua Lipa or someone like that it would be considered a pop bible and would've been extremely acclaimed.

The way I play this album almost every day, has really caught me off guard. 

 

I never really checked for Charli in the passed, she's had some awesome releases and bops in the passed but ever since Club Classics dropped I was hooked.

Then each single was even better then the last and the whole album campaign being a pure marketing genius has really made me a fan.

 

Of course the album being absolutely amazing from start to finish helps a lot + the 3 bonus tracks BEING ANTHEMS and the Lorde Remix

 

I'm so glad i went to the listening party, got the blood records exclusive and a signed CD.

Crash is a solid album but it's simply one of Charli's weaker attempts cause her discography is that stronger 

 

I'm not gonna give her special points for releasing something that would be an Ava Max masterpiece… she's gotta be held to higher standards cause she's capable of it. 

 

Honestly Crash's main problem isn't even the sellout factor, you could argue Brat has a lot of that type of sound with songs like Rewind or Apple. Its main problem is that it sounds like it was made to please people rather than something Charli wanted.. which is exactly what it was. So it can feel a little unfocused and lacking identity, which is fine with the Bebes, Avas, Zaras, etc who don't have an identity. And even though songs like Lightning, New Shapes, etc are very Charli, even they feel watered down which is weird for a Charli album which are usually packed with personality. The weak lyrics across the album help on that front either. 

 

Overall, it is overhated because I think Charli's base is a little pretentious with it and it is a solid album, but certainly one of her weaker albums with clear flaws.

Crash is great. It sounds like something that only someone who listens, understands and loves pop music could make. And most pop girls don't have an album like that in their discographies.
