God_Donna Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Yes. I now can cook a steak in 14 minutes. I season it and then I fry it. The end. Bacon is like 5 minutes. 1
monster_enriquer Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Yes, It saves my overall cooking time. I usually put some marinated chicken in the air fryer and set it aside to cook. Now, I can use this time to effectively make some eggs or tea on a gas stove while my chicken is getting cooked. 1

Lana Banana Posted February 28 Posted February 28 No and not planning on getting one. Everything I cook - I have everything I need, as in, I am not missing out on an air fryer. 1
WeFoundWill Posted February 28 Posted February 28 They are better at making things crispy than a normal oven. also quicker. I would never use it for regular cooking bc I love cooking so much but thats just me. 1

Everything is carcinogenic nowadays. mmm good point! one question, how do i know if my pans are non stick? my mom bought them for me and i don't have the boxes

dinorhino Posted February 29 Posted February 29 20 hours ago, Fleahive said: And miss me with that “it’s just a convection oven!” then go buy one. I’ve had multiple convection ovens and air fryers. Air fryers are built in a way to circulate hot air through out and around the food and a lot faster. Convection ovens are a lot larger and don’t make food nearly as crispy. Air fryers are literally just small convection ovens though...lol. And not all air fryers are built the same either. A toaster oven air fryer and a shake-basket air fryer are going to operate differently and before you came in I already mentioned the latter is superior in terms of cooking. I simply was giving an analogy of what an air fryer is, and that is the best comparison whether you like it or not and it's not wrong. And it's silly to compare a regular sized oven to a small air fryer; the cavity size alone is the largest difference in why heat is less efficient at cooking. It's why a toaster oven will cook more efficiently and evenly than a regular oven due to its size and just that, lol
