Where did I say "I think air fryers are only used for reheating frozen food"? I don't use mine often because doing it the more time consuming way is relaxing to me and I enjoy it. In case you forgot the OP, that member asked to give an opinion based on our own experience. All I did was give that of mine and people I'mm close to that use one. If you use your air fryer to cook a plethora of meals then good for you. You literally said if you don't like to cook or can't cook then it would be useful and said the inverse. What do you think that's implying? Lol. I don't care if you use yours or not; it's a matter of preference. But from an objective standpoint your take is very unfounded. Using an air fryer has no correlation to do with passion for cooking or expertise; it can be used well at all levels and for an extreme amount of applications if not most that you'd otherwise use an oven for, it is objectively better in regards to time efficiency. energy efficiency, and overall heat distribution. I've literally made fried chicken, flan, fresh potato wedges, seasoned soy curls, and much more. I have made all of them outside of my air fryer in an oven or on the cooktop and with the exception of flan all of them were faster to make in the air fryer and produced better results lol. 2 minutes ago, shyboi said: this is very interesting because a lot of the reviews on amazon mention that after 7 or 8 months the thing started failing Which air fryers are you looking at reviews for? From my family's personal experience, no-name brands give out after a year or two but the more reliable brands such as Ninja, COSORI, and so on, last a long time. For example I've been using an old ninja model air fryer for over 3 years and it's working like new and the only thing I've had to replace is the non stick basket and that's was because of a personal error rather than a quality issue. I accidentally scratched it. So many companies make air fryers that there are bound to be lots of duds. There are also toaster oven air fryers too but they are less efficient when it comes to convection cooking (see explanation here). 1

I'm just looking at very cheap ones but I've seen some smaller Ninjas that look good glad to know they are reliable i'm 100% getting one, i'm sold Edited February 28 by shyboi
brenda-walsh Posted February 28 Posted February 28 i love mine, use it everyday for my salmon and prefer it over the oven tbh + you can use it to cook pretty much everything 1
Mordecai Posted February 28 Posted February 28 My brother bought one last year and I don't really use it other than substituting it for my deep fryer if I want certain foods to be 'healthier' It depends on what you eat, I've never cooked meat in it and I'm a meat and carbs kinda guy 1
Leppie Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I use mine every day! They're the best I recommend the Ninja Dual Zone because it's got 2 separate baskets 1
Rotunda Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I think they’re a better alternative to microwaves/ovens for reheating things. I also like using them for chicken wings. 1

Alternatives would be Instant Slim/Instant Pot Vortex by Ninja. Best recommendation is if you have an Amazon account, get one sold by Amazon and try it for a month or two (or you can extend the return window via hassling customer support) and if you don't like it you can always return. The models I suggested are enough for like 2-3(+) servings of food but if it's just you then a smaller air fryer that's like 4QT would be fine Edited February 28 by dinorhino 1

Based on my personal experience. It doesn't change that you claimed I said things I did not and acted like I was speaking for everyone else. If it's matter of preference then give your recommendation and keep it cute. 13 minutes ago, dinorhino said: Using an air fryer has no correlation to do with passion for cooking or expertise; it can be used well at all levels and for an extreme amount of applications if not most that you'd otherwise use an oven for, it is objectively better in regards to time efficiency. energy efficiency, and overall heat distribution. Also something I never said - the rest is irrelevant to my post because I didn't give a position on efficiency or how the product cooks things. 13 minutes ago, dinorhino said: I've literally made fried chicken, flan, fresh potato wedges, seasoned soy curls, and much more. Okay, Air Fryer King... good for you. There are other users that have given their experiences which are consistent to both yours and my own, so I still don't see why you got bent out of shape over me making a recommendation based on my own experience.

I don't really use mine because I enjoy cooking things the long way, but my friends that do not - they use it almost daily for things like wings, fries, and frozen appetizers like mozzarella sticks or onion rings. If you get one, just be good cleaning it because some people do not and the tray ends up looking disgusting. Yeah, I don't cook at all sometimes I burn the omelettes so It should be perfect for me, hopefully
Fleahive Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Please don’t let morons tell you not to get one. Yes it’s extremely convenient. No 12 minute preheat like an oven. Makes everything crispy and cooks way faster than an oven. Even reheating a pizza in an air fryer takes a few minutes and it tastes FRESH And crispy. Way better than microwaved. And yes you can “fry” things. From my experience wings fry the best drumsticks aren’t as crispy but I only tried it once. With wings just dust them in some flour or baking powder. No egg wash needed!! Fry at 400 for 12-15 minutes and flip halfway. It tastes like a deep fried wing im telling you and it’s so fast. Also it’s a game changer for frozen foods. Frozen fries. Even frozen skinless chicken thighs from Trader Joe’s only takes 20 minutes and it’s ready to eat and juicy. The only time I use the oven is if I make a large meal that won’t fit in the air fryer or bone in chicken thighs. I find air frying bone in thighs makes them dry out. I like to bake it in its own juices. 3
Fleahive Posted February 28 Posted February 28 And miss me with that “it’s just a convection oven!” then go buy one. I’ve had multiple convection ovens and air fryers. Air fryers are built in a way to circulate hot air through out and around the food and a lot faster. Convection ovens are a lot larger and don’t make food nearly as crispy. 1
Park Jinyoung Posted February 28 Posted February 28 It’s really good for frozen stuff specially fries. Also very convenient. I kinda miss having one but I have maxed out my counter space and refuse to get another small appliance lol 1
K$Ellie Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I thought I’d use mine a lot more but I’d mostly ever use it for frozen food tbh 1
Kayseri Mantisi Posted February 28 Posted February 28 The suggestions here are mostly wrong since gays don't know about tech. The ones with windows aren't good. Philips HD9880 is the best one you can get right now if you're living in Europe. 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I wanted one for a long time and my boyfriend bought one for me. Tbh? Its fine. It works and all. But i dont see how it's different then an oven. It does thw same thing only faster. I use it alot but i don't think it's a must have 1

Soda Pop Queen Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) Honestly? I feel like it's kinda like the lava lamp of the '10s. We have one and it was cool in the beginning but the novelty wore off quick. At least it did for me. It's "healthier" but so is eating properly fried foods in moderation lol. Edited February 28 by Soda Pop Queen 1
popmusicisdead Posted February 28 Posted February 28 i mostly use for fries and to reheat fried chicken and such 1

Girl do you use non stick pans? It’s the same thing. If it’s that serious buy a brand with a metal tray. Everything is carcinogenic nowadays. 1
Kiss It Better Posted February 28 Posted February 28 i ended up not using it and going back to oven/microwave to heat/cook food 1
Gelato Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I'm so glad I was able to influence you sis When you buy your new air fryer you can always think back to the recipe I shared 🥰 1
