If you know Madonna and if it's screen footage for her concert she's definitely seen it approved it and added her own notes as well. It's how she works. Here's her editing the justify my love backdrop from the mdna tour

This is a wild estimation to make when Luther Vandross was never diagnosed with Aids/HIV. That is direct information from his estate and i believe it's wildly disrespectful to speculate or assume anything else if that was never communicated by Luther or his family.
