How is making things up about the cause of Luther's death and assuming that he died of AIDS because he was a closeted gay man NOT disrespectul? It's got nothing to do with the stigma surounding AIDS. Luther sued a tabloid in the 80's for saying he had AIDS because he lost weight after a diet, was that not disrespectful according to y'all too? And now Madonna stans are in here saying that she must have known something () when she didn't know Luther from a can of paint and when it's well known that he was struggling with diabetes and hypertension and he died from a stroke. The man was in a coma for months because of another stroke not long before he passed away, his three elder siblings along with his father all predeceased him due to diabetes. Very weird behavior. !!!

This is simply your assumption and says a lot more about you than it does about Madonna! 4 1 7
Mitsouko Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Extremely messy for the AIDS Memorial to have done this. But Luther was notoriously a cruel and hateful person so idgaf about him or his estate

Your assumption being that he was included simply because he was in the closet! If you're going to try and troll me then you'll have to do a much better job! 5 1 1 2

You're really trying to pretend as if it had nothing to do with him being a gay man? Clearly I'm not the troll here. But we got it: putting it out there that famous gay (black) men secretly die from AIDS and are lying about their health condition is totally fine to you and not homophobic at all of course, Madonna can do no wrong etc. 1 4 8

Anyway, I won't be responding to you again in this thread, as quite frankly I find you dull. 3 7 4

Afterglow Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Whatever way you slice it, he shouldnt be there. He was not out and did not confirm any diagnosis with the public. 1 1
Jay07 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Madonna and Luther were not friends or colleagues. As far as I know they did not know each other at all. She did not put him up there. Someone making the video messed up and it was disrespectful for sure but it got removed. 2

Unsurprisingly I see a lot of personal attack but not a single rebuttal because you know you're wrong and you're just scrambling to blindly defend your fave, as per usual. The photos were still used for her show and I have a hard time believing that no one at least told her that Luther was mistakenly included before his estate had to ask her to remove him but who knows, mistakes do happen. I'm dragging her not just because of this but because there is a pattern of her being disrespectful/messy towards black icons and if you're not happy with that i honestly don't give a **** lol 1 6
Elusive Chanteuse Posted February 27 Posted February 27 It was removed so no harm. whoever updates this stuff need to leave it be. 1

Alongoria13 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) The faux outrage over this is so dumb, my goodness If it was a mistake it was clearly done unintentionally with the purpose of shedding light on the victims who have perished of AIDS because this epidemic isn't over yet and high profile people dying from it showcases how it doesn't discriminate. Madonna remains being one of the VERY FEW artists who still sheds some light on the issue and won't let these people be forgotten, I don't see ANY of y'all faves doing this. They were her peers when she began, so what you didn`t understood?

Sweetness Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Freddie Mercury and other races were included, so how is it racist if that's the direction people are going in. If anything the message is anyone regardless of background can get it. 1
