Is Taylor's backlash era imminent?

The fact that someone said Musk and this ***** could come out with a love song about Musk (who knows at this point if there’s already one) and still be on top :ahh: At this point the longer she stays there the more it’s becoming a running joke of certain stereotypes

No. Would be like a doja cat relevance era. Can't see it happening.

People are growing tired of her PR, capitalist, and sending cease & desist antics

Here we go i can already see the thread:

Taylor is responsible for lawyers being able to feed their kids, why?

Any backlash will only make her bigger :gaylorcat2:

It is inevitable. But she survived it before and she will survive it again.

One thing is.... NEVER count Taylor out.

She's not your typical pop girl and the rules that apply to most don't apply to her.

Isn't it imminent since like October/November? It's already been 4 months of her backlash being imminent.

No. The only major backlashes I can think of is Madonna and Gaga and they both took big artistic risks, made big statements and actively alienated the public. Even Katy Perry cut her hair and tried to make a socially conscious era. Taylor is the most calculated, safe artist ever and she will never take a risk, let alone alienate anyone. All she cares about is success, not art.

i wish but it's not happening, unless she stole someone's husband or cut her hair and become cringeworthy

She'll only receive backlash when she takes artistic risks like Britney Spears and release out of left field, experimental, acclaimed, artistic statement albums like Blackout and In the Zone. Until then, she's safe.

She certainly tried by stealing her producer and video director but she's so uncreative, she even failed at that  she will never have a Toxic or a Baby One More Time but I guess it's ok, she can have a Karma is a cat.

But I don't see what this has to do with the topic as Britney has never had a backlash era like Erotica or ARTPOP. She had her personal issues but those stemmed from other causes not related to her career. Thankfully we know Taylor is too calculated and insincere to not have a PR relationship so she is indeed safe from that

Probably tbh. It is unrealistic that she can hold the amount of good press and love from the GP that she has been holding since 2020 for much longer. Because these things are always cyclical. The GP is starting to be tired of her because she has been everywhere for 4 years now, specially the last 2.

But she has proven in the past that she doesn't need the GP. Her loyal fanbase is so big that she can be a huge artist for the rest of her life just with them. And she has also proven that she knows how to manage her image and swtich the narrative around her character everytime.

So yes, probably, she is not going to stay in this level of positiveness forever, but she will be more than fine.

She's reached peak oversaturation, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. I used be a fan and own several of her albums physically, and I now I can't bear to see her face anymore.

I don't think it would kill her career by any stretch of the imagination, but yeah, I could see it.

these sort of threads always make me think of this tumblr post

ATRL truly exists in the twilight zone :suburban:

Swifties and the media treat her like she is above God so it's not happening anytime soon. If she killed a child on national television there would be think-pieces defending her.

Taylor only really needs Swifties and the fandom is huge, she'll be fine

Max Martin was primarily known for Britney and BSB back then so it was one or the other that "inspired" Taylor, take your pick Swiftie. But her remaking Toxic wholesale certainly points to a direction
