Big Bad Wolf Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) People are growing tired of her PR, capitalist, and sending cease & desist antics. Previously, Taylor somewhat manufactured her own "backlash" era with Reputation, but is the real backlash coming soon? As always discuss and keep it cute! Edited February 24 by Big Bad Wolf 1 13
Popular Post PoisonedIvy Posted February 24 Popular Post Posted February 24 (edited) A) No, this is y’all’s wishful thinking B) Already happened (2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, we’ve got options) C) Even if it does, she’s proven she can and will bounce back in a way that diminishes the downfall to become so insignificant that people will rewrite history by claiming it never really happened (often what happens with people claiming she was not “canceled” pre-Reputation) Any or all of the above are true. For y’all’s sake, you should hope she -doesn’t- have a backlash because with her track record, she comes back stronger than ever with each returning era (Red, 1989, reputation, folklore..) and I KNOW yall can’t take ANOTHER comeback from her in the saga of her ascension to the pinnacle of the industry. Hector Posted February 24 Posted February 24 She's way too loved & adored by her fan base, the media, awards bodies, and the general public for that to ever happen. 3
Glamthony Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Have you seen the news lately? Australia is loving her, the whole country paralyzed everything for her. 8
JohnWayneHolland Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I doubt it, the people bashing Taylor don't even consume her music, white women and white twinks will always be by her side 1
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Hopefully so she can release Reputa TV (but no, she’s un-cancellable at this point unless she kills someone) Edited February 24 by NoOneDiesFromLove
elevate Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Nope. I actually think we're going to see a backlash against the supposed backlash and her next era / tour will likely be even bigger than the Midnights era. A lot of the stuff that she gets criticised for (the overexposure, marketing practices, etc) are either the media's fault or something that every label does with their major pop stars and yet Taylor bears the brunt of most of the hate. The stuff that's actually serious - private jet use - is fair game, but should be primarily directed at governments and large corporations, and comes off as insincere and lazy when directed at easy targets. She also benefits from having losers target her on Twitter and Tiktok. Remember the Celine Dion "snub" and how many endless Tiktoks we got about that? That was only three weeks ago. 8
Itz_Dani! Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Wasn’t 2015-2017 pre-reputation her supposed “backlash” era? And look how that turned out. & she is even bigger now so I don’t think she’ll be affected. I mean like every artist there will be a point where she will “decline” , specially in album sales & stuff, but even her “decline” will remain bigger than most artists sales. i Think the hate now a days is the perfect set up and fuel for Rep TV so it’s coming soon I can tell! 1
Blade Runner Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Looks like WISHFUL THINKING on your part. It already happened.
Peak Now Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Quote Previously, Taylor somewhat manufactured her own "backlash" era with Reputation No that was 2016, Reputation was her reframing certain backlash-era narratives like the "snake" motif OT: these praying-on-downfall threads are kinda weird ngl
HASHTAGPOW Posted February 24 Posted February 24 It's already happening. 80% of her fans are now #Dopamined 4

Remember the Celine Dion "snub" and how many endless Tiktoks we got about that? That was only three weeks ago. This is something they forget too. She’s low hanging fruit — everyone attacks her for ANYTHING, no matter how insignificant it may be. It makes it harder to take valid criticisms (like the jet stuff) seriously when people are always complaining about her anyways. 5
brokee Posted February 24 Posted February 24 No, but you can expect a thread like "Taylor's backlash era imminent?" about every two weeks on atrl. 13
theoghon Posted February 24 Posted February 24 If the new album serves corny glitter-pen poems + bland bedroom pop like Midnights...she MIGHT have to start packing up 1
Kristie Kuwa Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I wish, but the facts are: - stable streams which are still insane -> no dip in sight - crazy touring numbers -> no dip in sight If anything, I think she might be heading for an insane opening number week for her new album regardless of the quality of the album 1 1
CandleGuy Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Yes, on purpose so that Reputation (Taylor's Version) hits the way it's supposed to (what it I told you none of it was accidental.gif)
Johnnyboi Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Yes, just in time for her to release Reputation (Taylor version.) it’s all been planned out.
