Taylor’s the ONLY artist who sells her variants with a separate exclusive bonus track using that tactic to entice consumers to spend an additional $40 for one song. Olivia literally did this. You and your fake concern. 1 1
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) what is the big issue when every other artist does it?? If they can't afford it or don't want to buy different versions just torrent the bonus tracks (meanwhile the deluxe versions are not even available in my country so they need to stop the complaining an ship one to someone who is willing to buy them now!) Her team can take some videos down but there are always more that pops up.

Blue Rose Posted February 23 Posted February 23 There’s clearly nothing wrong with the multiple versions but you guys need to remember that she releases 3 albums per year and her vinyls are not cheap. It adds up for most families
4Real Posted February 23 Posted February 23 My biggest problem is the fugly cover but I'm certainly not buying it so idc 1
hungrymuffin Posted February 23 Posted February 23 7 pages over this i simply dont understand why people feel the urge to buy everything at this point they should probably see a therapist 1
Cleanromantic Posted February 23 Posted February 23 These same people were also complaining when Taylor released different covers for the same album like other artists . And i've seen 0 backlash when Oilvia did the same thing last year. 2

But I will be waiting for similar methods done by another artists to be reported on as well.
CallumDavies Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Obviously lots of artists do this. But I think Billboard needs to intervene and limit the number of variants that count towards the chart. 2

Because they don’t feel the need to attack Olivia ( or whoever who does this as of matter ) whose power doesn’t lay in selling frame like Taylor’s. They just don’t feel it would make enough of a wave and with Taylor it seems like reason enough to make her catch strays. 1
Asscatchem Posted February 23 Posted February 23 wow this year with the private jet, celine dion, and now this she's really setting the stage for rep tv
Asscatchem Posted February 23 Posted February 23 we came a long way from the cheap Lover and rep variants
Giancor Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I would sell an extra small cd (mini CD size wise) for 5$ with 3 new songs and at the end of the era I would release a complete edition of the album with everything (unseen pics and some demos/ acoustic versions)
Pop Fan Posted February 23 Posted February 23 This is just a loud minority. Most fans are excited and will buy what they want and can afford. Everyone does this, it's the industry standard at this point. The only issue i have with this is the "exclusive" limited edition marketing. She should just release all 4 variants in like 2 weeks (a few days between each cover reveal). But all 4 variants should be available the whole time on her website. Many fans would wait for all 4 covers to be revelead and the chose which one they want or even order all 4 together and save the money on the shipping

WildHeart Posted February 23 Posted February 23 2 hours ago, bwhansen said: That is not comparable lmao. All the eternal sunshine variants have the same album, it's just a matter of choosing which cover you like more and whichever you buy you'll get the full project anyway. Taylor is making all her variants have slightly different tracklists so her die-hard fans feel forced to buy them all because they don't wanna miss a song. She got dragged for Lover, Folklore and Midnights's versions too which was the same thing with Eternal Sunshine. Did Ariana get her lashings for the same thing? 2 hours ago, rebeltwat said: People not getting that the issue is that she's STILL doing all of this despite being currently embarked on a multi-billion dollar tour and album sales that already eclipse any of the other artists you want to compare her to You don't have to circle jerk around her every single time. And this argument of "no one's forcing you to buy it" like some of you are genuinely insane Doesn't it make more sense that an artist with bigger demand releases more versions than artists with less demand? Are bigger brands supposed to release more versions of their products as well? 1 hour ago, Cameltoe Chariot said: thousands of diehard fans calling this the last straw for them seems like this time her fans are at their limit this time! Can we expect a 300k debut for TTPD then
rzal Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Not "Every artists does this!!!!" when it's only her and Olivia 1
americanlife Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Olivia did the same thing with GUTS vinyl variant bonus tracks. No one complained.
