At least Taylor is selling different album covers with her variants, unlike some artists who would only change the vinyl colours and not the actual cover. 1 hour ago, KatyPrismSpirit said: i mean who cares even? eternal sunshine has 7 covers and nobody complains The difference is she is putting one exclusive track on each, instead of doing the normal 'deluxe' version with 3-5 extra tracks. She is doing 4 versions with 1 bonus track each. Which, I agree...just don't ******* buy it if you don't want to. Pirate the bonus songs if they aren't on streaming. It isn't that serious. 1

4th Time Around Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Anyone who is a big enough sucker to fall for this in the first place deserves to have their money taken. Rollout has been torture, can't remember the last time I cared less about a new Taylor Swift album. Edited February 23 by 4th Time Around 4
loveisdead9582 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 These are probably people who don’t buy the albums to begin with or maybe only get one copy of the deluxe edition and call it a day. Hardcore fans are probably whipping out their credit cards.
2NE1 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 FINALLY. Hopefully she received the message with future releases. 1
queenoftheclouds Posted February 23 Posted February 23 As we Know her 2 weeks later all Songs are on streaming. 1
Relampago. Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I would love to see Billboard start counting variants separately just for the kiis tbh 2 1

It just didn't make any noise because nobody cares about variants when it's not Taylor. Is that artist also using emotional manipulation tactics by advertising the variants are only available for 72hrs and then soon after releasing them to all major retailers?? Cause that's ****** up, and it hasn't happened just once in Taylor's case. 1 3 2

There were similar meltdowns for Midnights and 1989 TV though. For various reasons too. It happens every release. Sorry but this is not the first and won't be the last time that this is the "last straw". 1

And people didn't know they would be available otherwhise nobody would have bought the version they didn't want This like buying a car with 3 doors without the option of buying any other one And once you bought it you they start selling the 5 door version
BODERLINE Posted February 23 Posted February 23 All those comments are from people who likely wouldn’t buy more than one copy anyway, so they’d be mad regardless. The songs will eventually all be on streaming, so just pirate them until then. Really over all the faux outrage. I would much rather Taylor continue actually putting in the effort she does with her physical releases. Making sure each variant is thought out and has exclusive content and justified to be its own piece. No one is forcing you to buy every version, and Taylor ALWAYS eventually puts all the content out. I appreciate that it gives people more of a reason to buy and enjoy physical media before the songs are put on streaming. People are complaining because they’re the one’s who are ONLY buying them to collect all the songs like Pokémon, and that’s their own problem
TayDuaStan Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Where was this backlash when Olivia released 15 versions for GUTS? 15 and 12 for SOUR . Or when Billie released 15 versions for HTE. Or when Rina Sawayama did 27 versions for her latest album . Those are just haters who are pretending to be swifties. If you don’t want to buy, don’t buy, it’s that simple. I personally enjoy collecting those editions, so i don’t see a problem in this. And it’s a great opportunity to see outtakes from the album photoshoot that might not be released in other way Edited February 24 by TayDuaStan 3 3 3

cuteboyzay Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Just like when it comes to merch, this sh*t is annoying when an artist is obviously doing it for a money grab. Of course you don’t have to buy it but when you are already selling nearly 50M units a year and embarking on a multi-billion dollar World Tour, not only that but flying your jet around everywhere. It’s clear your intentions aren’t just about the music. Also how much paper/plastic does it require to make all of these variants!? It would just benefit her fans a lot (the ones that already spent thousands on the tour) if she just had one deluxe version with all of the songs. No one wants to have to sort through all of that. I’d be pissed if my fave did that too ngl. Edited February 23 by cuteboyzay 1

No one is forcing anyone to buy anything 3. It's common knowledge that all these 'limited' editions will be available again later on 4. Even if you have FOMO, you can still cancel your pre-order later on if you don't wan't it anymore At this point, no, I don't feel bad for anyone. It's just crying for the sake of crying. 2 2 1
CuriousDolphin Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Why make a fuss about it? The tracks are gonna leak anyway whether you buy one variant or the other. I mean, why would you even want to buy a vinyl in the first place? Some lads don't even have a vinyl player to begin with. They just collect them and all they do in return is collect dust. I mean, everything is digitalised nowadays, why buy a vinyl when you can go stream it online. As much as I love Taylor or anybody else for that matter, I'm sticking with online streaming. There's no sense in spending so much money on a vinyl for one bonus song. They're left out for a reason. And she's probably gonna get them all up on our usual platforms a year down the line, mark my words. Besides, they will probably leak as soon as the vinyls hit the shelves. You'll still get them, but you'll only be able to listen to them on your computer. Big deal, you'll still have them anyway in the end. Edited February 23 by CuriousDolphin

It's normal that people are angry. And no they don't have to buy matter of fact a lot of people will cancel their order and buy the one they want. But now they have to do all the paperwork because of the sketchy marketing
tomo Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Just get a group of your swiftie friends and every person buy one of the each different variant. I'm sorry but this will only be a problem to the people who feel like they need to OWN these.
