This is more of a chart strategy than anything else (meant to ensure her highest debut figure and set a new personal record). And as we know, chart strategies aren't always monetarily viable. And this argument of "no one's forcing you to buy it" like some of you are genuinely insane But that argument is true. THEY ARE THE ONES who put out their money and give it to Taylor. No one forces them 1

Perhaps not unreasonable to want that but a little unreasonable to expect it considering this has been happening for decades now.
K$Ellie Posted February 23 Posted February 23 59 minutes ago, Romova99 said: But she's adding random tracks to different variants which is frustrating, if you want to listen every single song released this era you either will have to buy every variant to hear every exclusive track or buy every exclusive song separately from iTunes to get it (idk if they will be on streaming considering they are 'exclusive' tho). But yeah, basically she's been doing this so why bother now, people will still buy this anyway so get those coins Ms. Kelce there are links up online within a day, anyone invested enough to listen to bonus tracks would find them
Chris Posted February 23 Posted February 23 People can cry on IG all they like. She is still going to do big numbers anyways.
1989 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 29 minutes ago, Brikenbur said: It’s different here. Taylor’s the ONLY artist who sells her variants with a separate exclusive bonus track using that tactic to entice consumers to spend an additional $40 for one song. There’s actual drags you could use, lmk if you want them sis. Being loud and wrong in every post isn’t a cute look.
Kimi Posted February 23 Posted February 23 1 minute ago, Lemon said: The only reason her detractors “support fans whining about this ( aka something that has existed for a looong time in the industry )” is because they know she will be moving these copies/variants. Had she didn’t have selling capacity, they wouldn’t care. We all know this, thank you. why do you think that, like those kind of takes are the most insane to me. you are a fan, not an artist, and thinking most people who are bOtheRed by his are obsessed with her downfall is such a siege mentality. 2
hallucinate Posted February 23 Posted February 23 is it greedy and embarrassing? yes but also at the same time these fans need to realize that you don’t need to buy every little thing your fave puts out like what happened to just enjoying the music p.s. fans who see collecting as some kind of hobby are not included in this obviously
Cameltoe Chariot Posted February 23 Posted February 23 The usual Swifties are in here working overtime to dismiss this but I just got a thread from the Taylor Swift subreddit pushed to my feed with thousands of diehard fans calling this the last straw for them seems like this time her fans are at their limit this time! 5 4

She literally makes them feel bad and left out through social media if they don’t buy them. They get FOMO. They have no balls. 1 2

Well, when we get reports on other artists doing this, then we can conclude they are not just obsessed with Taylor specifically and then we can talk in good faith. Until then, this kind of fake negative vitriol based on pretending to be brand new to these things done in this industry for a long time now is not cutting it, because it is obvious what is behind this - not necessarily someone’s downfall, but awareness this will provoke traction in sales. 1
tost1 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 The funny part is it took them like 30 albums to realize she’s miliking them for all they are worth 1

Solaria Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Taylor in Forbes Magazine next week: ‘’When my less succesful peers release 4 vinyl variants, they get praised but when I do it I get criticized. A flop can laugh but Taylord can only chuckle.’’ 8
uusagii Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I won't be surprised if she does the randomized photo card thing for her next album
Digitalism Posted February 23 Posted February 23 " you can just not buy" Why is so hard for some people here to understand ? They are not going to buy they are angry because they already bought one version and she keeps releasing new versions with other songs. 1
Redstreak Posted February 23 Posted February 23 1 hour ago, bwhansen said: That is not comparable lmao. All the eternal sunshine variants have the same album, it's just a matter of choosing which cover you like more and whichever you buy you'll get the full project anyway. Taylor is making all her variants have slightly different tracklists so her die-hard fans feel forced to buy them all because they don't wanna miss a song. If they were actually die hard they’d know how to pirate but alas 1
Dolce Vita Posted February 23 Posted February 23 girl pirate that **** and don’t buy it if you don’t want it
Trent W Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Why don’t they just make a playlist in spotify? All the tracks eventually are there I’m a fan but honestly only an idiot would buy al the variants and give their money to a billionaire This is not only with her, but I usually just buy a copy and stream the rest in spotify. 2
nortonandreev Posted February 23 Posted February 23 The problem, at least for me, is that there is not a single CD with all the songs (and they are also not all available on streaming). It's not about having a choice between too many editions, it's that there is no choice, in case you want to have all songs in one place. 3
