all this mental gymnastics just because you don't want to accept the obvious.

people should have the chance to purchase the whole project without buying 5-10 different variants.

Mental gymnastics? :rip: I’m merely pointing out the fact that if people spent all the time they write essays about Taylor (an artist they claim not to care about) online working instead, they could easily buy all her merch, which is concerning.

No one owes you anything, and no one’s forcing you to buy anything.

well some of you spend your time defending someone who doesn't know you exist..

there is a lot of critisicm online against practices from greedy companies (eg for unnecessary subscriptions etc). I don't know why Taylor should be excluded from this criticism.

One standard, one deluxe, maybe one super deluxe at the end of the era. Anything other than that is just greed no more who the artist is.

I'll never get over Madonna's Hard Candy deluxe edition with a bag of .50 cent peppermints, two remixes, and a $10 increased price tag. :rip:

Most are selling lazy 7" single vinyl while she's churning new full albums left and right for the same price, some people need to know their place...

I've been following her for over a decade and own several physical music products from her, but haven't gotten anything from the past few releases, yet still enjoy her as much as I always did and don't feel like I'm missing on anything, therefore anyone that feels that way is their own fault, no one else can blamed for it.

Just stream the music and stop giving your money to a billionaire

This is the problem Swifties don’t realize. Instead of bitching at “casual fans” upset with a Billionaire using cheap tactics to get even more money, shouldn’t you want your billionaire fave to stop these tactics for sales and money and just treat her music like it’s “art” like they do so claim?

Her fans really push this narrative that she’s so “genuine” and “love music” but everything she does gives the impression her music is just a product to make money. She would sell more than anyone else with just a regular and deluxe version so why does she insist on these tactics? Absurd. Her hardcore fans are deranged to encourage it. It’s “eat the rich” until it’s Taylor. Then it’s “mind your business and just don’t buy if it you don’t want it” :rip:

This. I cannot imagine religiously spending my hard earned money on a product with subpar vocals and high school lyrics as if it were my job.

much less defend her and show off her achievements as my own as if I were the one making money from them like her, or as if I was on her payroll

I mean, they kinda have a point... it's not about the multiple covers, and it's about the tracklist being separate for each of these editions when it seems inevitable at some point later down the line, she'll put all of them onto a single version of the album.

No, no one is being forced to buy all the versions, but I'd also be annoyed if I could only buy a purposefully "incomplete" version of the record.

Why can’t they do what I do and buy the variant they like most then wait (forever) for them to be on Spotify? Truly a nonissue

Or find them on YouTube where they’ll be for a couple of minutes before they’re deleted

All the non released songs are on Spotify as podcasts. Not hard to find at all.

"All of these editions" "tons and tons of variants" when it's likely to just be 4.  Meanwhile, other artists are releasing 8-20.

Now why would wanting to maximize sales/want chart success somehow be completely incompatible with loving music and caring about your art? Y'all just love to come up with these false choices to push a narrative, and have the gal to blame others for doing it.

Olivia's last album had 14 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Halsey's last album had 13 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Billie's las album had 12 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Phoebe Bridgers' last album had 12 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Katy Perry's last album had 10 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Lana's last album had 8 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Melanie Martinez's last album had 8 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

The Weeknd's last album had 7 variants. Does it mean he didn't care about his art?

Ariana's upcoming album has 7 variants. Does it mean she doesn't care about her art?

Or do we just keep this energy when it's someone we don't like/can't stand?

Everything leaks/gets uploaded eventually tbh. If people want to physically own every single song that’s a them problem. :chick1:

The box literally said Hard Candy on it and that's what you got, where's the problem? Queen never lies.

Not the swifties on here trying to ostracize their fellow swifties for not having the “she can do no wrong” mentality. Strict cult.
