I don’t get why she is getting this hate when literally every mainstream artist do this. At least Taylor is selling different album covers with her variants, unlike some artists who would only change the vinyl colours and not the actual cover.

Then don’t buy it

This. I just don't understand the faux-outrage. :gaycat6:

Well if they don’t have self control is their problem.

These are casual fans that don't usually buy more than 1 version. She's not losing anything since they'll eventually buy it when she releases a version with all the bonus tracks.

I dont like this type of release either but these fans are ridiculous :bibliahh:like, you can just not buy????

Taylor has literally done this to some extent since Fearless in 2010, why is it suddenly a problem now?

you don't have to buy it, She can announce 50 different covers or editions, pic 1, your fav and get it, that's it.

This isn’t “backlash” nor is it even new—people have been complaining in Taylor Nation’s comments about anything and everything forever. Some people just always need something to complain about; with the way these variants sell out, the majority of her fanbase isn’t upset over them. :coffee2:

I get the frustration but if you're not invested in merch and collecting every single thing like that (most people aren't) just wait for the full release, even You're Losing Me ended up on streaming, I'm sure ALL of the songs will either be available on streaming or in some deluxe package.

For the few people that do buy every single thing this is no different than her having different polaroids for 1989, the magazines during reputation and everything that followed since then, Lover diaries? I think

They act is if they are being forced to buy it, all the exclusive songs will be online eventually anyway

But she's adding random tracks to different variants which is frustrating, if you want to listen every single song released this era you either will have to buy every variant to hear every exclusive track or buy every exclusive song separately from iTunes to get it (idk if they will be on streaming considering they are 'exclusive' tho).

But yeah, basically she's been doing this so why bother now, people will still buy this anyway so get those coins Ms. Kelce  :clap3:

they should get a job, or a second one if they're already employed

I think its time to switch it up. The timed vinyl thing is exhausting especially when you release 3 albums a year

We need a cleanse in the fandom. Too many casuals.

This :rip: no one is being held gunpoint. If someone wants only 1 version and like another announced later more, just cancel or return it upon arrival :rip:

I approve this outrage because different visuals for covers and different content per version are two different things. It's certainly pushing it a little in the wrong direction. Though I wonder if she'd do it if Olivia didn't do it first.

Probably not, Olivia's working set a precedent and it won't be only Taylor that does this in the near future.

Video games do this where they release different exclusives / versions with limited items. Honestly deal and stop taking everything delicately and personally
