Straight men also rarely stan and instead pride themselve as being "tastemakers". This results in very few straight male stans and those that exist are pretty casual. The men that do listen to pop music mostly just listen to the top songs in a pop playlist and might listen to a hyped pop album once or twice. But they don't really stan. Primary consumer of female artists in America has been decades for decades primarily women. 2 1

There's definitely a bit of an aversion here. Of course SOME straight men do listen to pop girls often but they are a minority. 3

I'm sure there are some straight men who stan pop girlies, but it doesn't seem to be common at all. They probably like pop girls that are 'cool' to like (Rihanna, Dua). I bet they casually listen to the pop girls' biggest hits. It's not just the power of gays and girls that made songs like Poker Face, Firework, and Levitating massive smashes. 1
