And they sell 1M+ pure albums every time they release an album. Charisma doesn't equal success, let people enjoy whatever they want.

you know kpop companies heavily inflate the sales of their groups :snowman:

at the end of the day they're irrelevant outside of a very niche community of teenagers, Water remains bigger than any LSRFM song or member

there’s levels to her tweet cause those k-pop ******* stole pinkpantheress’s sound too

That is not PinkPantheress sound. I have to give NewJeans their dues cause their creative director did it right and got an actual artist with a unique sound to make songs for them. Erika De Casier and her friends Smerz, etc used this sound even before Pink.

Isn’t that all that genre does? Steal choreo, image, sound from established, usually black western artists, add some lifeless looking aesthetic to it, shoot a video in 2140p with epilepsy inducing colours, and their stans think they’re doing something.

Even as a Kpop Stan, yes :dies: it’s so reductive that I’ve grown out of it.

I don't know if I could call that plagarism but it's definitely not good. That kpop perfomance is so cheap and lifeless.

If you listen to music from Brazil, Mexico, India, Egypt, South Africa, Morocco, Nigeria, Turkey, etc., they all contain indigenous influences. The way South Korea just shamelessly rips off whatever is trending in the Anglosphere is so weird. :rip:

Idk what but I was not expecting the first few comments that were acting as if they didn’t rip off Water’s genre, choreography and even Tyla’s outfits :deadbanana4:

the melody also sounds like doja's woman- :suburban:

LOVE Tyla, but it doesn’t sound like Water to me.  But there is def some appropriation going on with their track in general.

I mean K-Pop would be nothing without the Black genres, styles and artists they rip off of. Should hardly be shocking to anyone at this point

Stans of western pop music are always so bitter about kpop :dies:

This isn't even genuine backlash but stans of other groups trying to make an issue out of it.

Tyla doesn't even want to be considered Black as she uses and profits from the best of what the culture offers, she should look at herself first.

Le sserafim doesn't pick out their songs so they should take it up with hybe

Asians who speak a completely different language than English/ any other western languages get more heat than white people (Ari, JB) doing black genres. Korea doesn't understand American politics and obviously they are just doing what they see as a musical trend, and they believe anyone can do it, which is wrong.

Whats shocking is Le Sserafim is so incredibly untalented so they must be some type of a threat if trendy western artists care what kpop does an ocean away. Why keep your heat for a group with Kazuha, who can't sing, a group that has no visuals, and a group that has no hits? Kpop's power ig
