BrandNewBrandon Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Debut at #1 in the US? Yes. In the UK? Yes. In Australia? Yes. In Germany? Probably not. In France? Probably not. In Italy? Probably not. In Spain? Probably not. In Japan? Probably not. In Poland? Probably not. In Switzerland? Probably not. Taylor stans can downvote this comment all they want but Taylor has zero #1s in those territories and that's with songs like Shake It Off and Blank Space AND Cruel Summer lol. 5 3 6 1 22

And apparently she doesn’t need cause she is selling out multiple stadiums, the most streamed international artist in those countries, and charting multiple albums in these countries what an album artist, no quick lil single allowed Edited February 19 by HappierJealousy 2 8

She could absolutely pull it off with her current popularity, especially if she decides to drop pre-album as opposed to alongside it like she has done for years. Not to mention that with the Eras Tour, she easily sold out the biggest stadiums in every territory you listed across MULTIPLE dates per venue - something most MPGs with #1 singles there couldn't do. But then you'll just resort to all the other invalid and fictitious drags you pull out whenever she's mentioned. Thank you for contributing to Taylor's everlasting relevance! 7 3

And she's able to do that in the US and the UK with ease so why not outside of Anglosphere? Sure, she doesn't need it but why can't she DO it? And also she's doing three stadiums in Poland and the last one isn't sold out entirely from what I've heard. 1 6
taylamour Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Maybe, or more likely the song fans decide should've be the single.

Girl, in her current popularity she released 1989 (TV) and failed to do so. The question was could she score a #1 single and didn't specify where so while she can easily do that in the US, UK or Australia she has trouble doing that outside of those countries and there has to be a reason for that. It's not like Taylor stans in France or Germany are deliberately skipping her singles Edited February 19 by BrandNewBrandon 8
IBeMe Posted February 19 Posted February 19 It's basically guaranteed unless there a song with like 600 points blocking her or something

ME! went up against one of the strongest #1s in history and was a terrible composition of music that the fans and the public pretty immediately rejected. Right now, the competition for the top spot is incredibly weak and the odds of Taylor pushing a lead as universally reviled as ME! are quite, quite low. 2

The Poland dates took the longest time to sell out, but they are indeed sold out as of this moment - 6 months before the shows take place. Worth noting that there was only a presale for these tickets, meaning anyone who wanted one had a very limited window to sign up for access, and even then they couldn't be sure they'd get an access code. A public onsale never took place for any international dates. Also, that's... incredibly specific knowledge for someone claiming to not be a fan considering that, as I said, none of the EU dates ever had a public onsale, so the only way to access this data would be if you were selected in the presale signup list or actively keeping up with Swifties' social media discourse. In other words, the obsession is clinical. Edited February 19 by Carry My Heart 8 3
aesthetic bih Posted February 19 Posted February 19 At this point, even if she releases a new single each week for 2 months, they will all go #1 at least for a week

As for my knowledge of her selling out those stadiums or not, I read it here: https://www.facebook.com/filmweb/posts/pfbid0226kxCvXkh273RcTcyBWnx8N82eEW4VbWaH1rsfovd29Zum3F71VsMRFgtJp966hkl It's a big movie site and it's under a comment "she's not that big in Poland" that one person (a Taylor stan probably) is saying that she sold out those stadiums and another one says she didn't and then there's a discussion. It's not that hard to understand. I think you need to step down from that high horse a bit because not everyone being critical of Taylor really cares for her. Edited February 19 by BrandNewBrandon 7
