Theluckyone Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Wow this is so left field and unexpected. Congrats bey, truly a huge success!
naval23 Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Insane. There is no one doing it like her who can consistently reinvent herself and about to get her biggest global smash in 15+ years we love to see it

This shows that Beyonce always has/had it in her to get hits if she made herself more accessible to the public and released more relatable music. it's also because in her previous eras (self-titled and lemonade) she didn't have any pre-released singles.. this cemented her as an album artist but the singles were hurt a bit from this (drunk in love was just unfortunate cause it was blocked by a huge hit like dark horse, formation could have been another #1 if she actually dropped it on all platforms instead of being an unlisted youtube release ) but anyways here we are, now that she's pushing singles again she's making it look so easy 1

There is no one doing it like her who can consistently reinvent herself and about to get her biggest global smash in 15+ years we love to see it Elton John is the only one that ever did. In fact, I see parallels in their careers: Elton late 1960s start and 1970s career peak successful, but somewhat of a down decade in the 1980s second peak in the 1990s Beyonce late 1990s start and 2000s career peak successful, but somewhat of a down decade in the 2010s second peak in the 2020s If this pattern continues, I can't wait to see what artists Beyonce collabs with to get her last Top 10s in the early 2050s (of course, after ~20 years away). 1 1
NickARTPOP Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I think this is a great example that if you have decent good will (Beyonce obviously has much more than decent good will but for sake of argument) and make something that people want to listen to, genre and age don’t really matter as much as it did in years past. Music curation has become so much more democratized, same reason Mitski’s random ass country song is smashing.
ShouldersSideways Posted February 18 Posted February 18 To put this in perspective, Beyonce debuted before TRL was even on air. 1 1

4th Time Around Posted February 18 Posted February 18 A legend and a goddess, Beyonce deserves all the success in the world
45seconds Posted February 18 Posted February 18 What we are witnessing with Beyoncé is kind insane. Like three decades after debut you are relevant enough to do this so handily is crazy. I can’t think of a single artist who was as consistently relevant for this long in their solo career that was t a one-off comeback like Cher did with Believe. At least in the US.

Attaboy Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I think, THINK, we may have a Flowers, Uptown Funk, etc type situation on our hands It’s a big statement but the signs are there
