She’s just much more accessible when she isn’t releasing pretentious music. It’s why she’s lacked hits. This shows that Beyonce always has/had it in her to get hits if she made herself more accessible to the public and released more relatable music.

It's not just Americans, it seems. The song is smashing worldwide, so I think the public is on board with a fun, careful country bop.

 

But I love that this will be one of her iconic #1s because it shows the eclectic variety of her music. She's had (or will have) three #1s this decade: rap, dance/house, and country. It's a prime example of how good music can resonate with everyone, regardless of the genre.
