If you add every Mariah album from 2008 onwards you can’t even outsell Hard Candy.

Why since 2008 when Einstein was released the same year and automatically makes this false?

Someone correct me but didn’t Madonna outsold every Mariah release the last 2 decades? I’m not even going to mention their touring gross differences

I’m referring to ”reduced to Xmas” when her 90s/00s catalog is outstreaming Madonna, Janet, Celine, Whitney’s with EASE outside of Xmas.

I can’t believe the Caution slander going on in this thread :biblio: Giving Me Life and Portrait are career highlights

It’s because that album being acclaimed doesn’t fit their narrative so they are conveniently forgetting it.

and conveniently ignoring Mariah’s recurrent streams outside of Xmas trampling the other girls.

The transparency

I feel like either Mariah sabotaged it cuz she didn't care for it. Or Ariana sabotaged her. IDK it just doesnt make sense.

Caution was perfect but that was so long ago, and she hasn't done anything interesting or note worthy since then except maybe that embarrassing NYE performance and being reduce to xmas meme lady

madonna hasn’t released a good album since confessions and that was almost 2 decades ago so i think you’ve lost the plot a little bit

Caution served tho. she would serve again if she give up belting out of her comfort zone and get rid of the excessive filter for her vocals :giraffe:

Caution STOMPS on every Madonna album released after the Bush administration so this whole thread is definitely a lie

Are you trying to imply Madonna is also incapable of serving anymore?

It’s clear that she’s losing the hag war against Madonna. Madonna is selling out tours and bagging a streaming hit 40 years into her career while Mariah only has one Xmas song that got dethroned in the US by Brenda Lee’s last year as well. Her new remix with Ariana has been widely negatively received by stans as well. Why is Mariah having so much trouble?

Has Madonna released a good album ever since hard candy? We all know the answer is no, plus she embarrass herself with shitty collabs like the maluma feature or the Anitta one

While I am not a Mariah fan, you can't discredit her accomplish and success... some of yoll in this thread are delusional. Also why bring Madonna into every comparison thread... a mess

Anyway I haven't heard Ariana's remix, and after reading the rave reviews, I won't even bother... Time for a new management MC x

calling her a hag- we comparing looks now? chile...

Mariah is a certified legend with literally nothing to prove. She had the album sales, the cultural and musical dominance in her heyday, has the talent and skill and influence. i dont get why you guys seek to find any fault in her when she is really just minding her business and enjoying the fruits of her labor.

Even the older gen poc legends like Mimi still get discriminated by her white peers’ stans. Like clockwork!

She will serve with her new album if she pulls another Caution (when it comes to quality at least)

Objectively we can say Mariah is one of the most talented artists in a booth. There’s really no doubts about it. Her runs and melodies are some of the best recorded to this day. It’s kind of a shame both her and Madonna aren’t focusing on just delivering music regardless of success since they’re at the point of their careers that they can do whatever and afford to take any risks they want but choose not to.

As a longtime Madonna stan, i love and respect Mariah a lot. She is a legend that deserves better. People should see beyond her Christmas songs and discover what a fantastic discography she has. I will always root for her as there will never be another Big 5 like Madonna, Mariah, Whitney, Celine and Janet. Those women were and are something. Enough with stan wars and let’s enjoy them while they are alive and still giving us music.

Mariah hasn't been relevant since the mid-00s.
