kishi Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) 1 hour ago, Nashe said: twitter is filled with discussions about T I came to post about this actually. We have all been cheering for Tinashe. I love that we want other songs to get recognition. While I appreciate the effort being made to bring attention to her name, I think some fans are going about it the wrong way. The post above has better wording than some of the discussion I've seen on Twitter, but it's still bothering me a bit. I've seen too much "Nasty is getting what (fill in Tinashe song) deserved" or "Nasty is not one of her best songs" and that kind of immature, negative narrative is so unproductive. She's getting her flowers like we've always wanted her to. Why taint this moment? There's way too many songs that SHOULD get a boost due to Nasty's attention, but we don't have to trash Nasty in the process! I personally would have loved and still want to see Uh Huh, Needs, X, Bouncin, Die A Little Bit, Save Room For Us, Ride Of Your Life and my absolute favorites Ooh La La and Company chart! Even All Hands On Deck didn't chart on Hot 100 and should have! Just hope we can focus on supporting Nasty, Tinashe and our favorite bops with the right energy. Word choice and intent does matter! stochastic Posted May 21 Posted May 21 A Tinashe song going viral because of McLovin whining his waist was not on my bingo card for 2024. Marketing execs must be pulling out their hair 5
Saint Posted May 21 Posted May 21 her posting the storm with lightning on her story can only mean one thing….i might not be ready for what's to come
Nashe Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Just now, Saint said: her posting the storm with lightning on her story can only mean one thing….i might not be ready for what's to come nah, she often posts random stuff like that lol. I wouldn't buy much into that haha She's also in the studio. Maybe she's thinking of turning Quantum Baby into a full album now that there's some momentum building up...?
ALA Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Hopefully this blows up like it should so her entire catalog can go viral 1

I agree it's so stupid. They are so dumb. If nasty becomes a hit, Her fanbase will increase a lot, at least many people will be exposed to those songs, and those songs still have a chance of being a hit or very big still. Nasty being a big hit, will open so many doors for her. As long as she and her team don't **** it up, the possibility is almost endless. The chances of getting more hits increase drastically, may even get to do everything we all have been wanting her to do. Those songs weren't hit because of lack of exposure. If nasty become a hit, she and those song will have the exposure. They are so dumb. I don't even think they are real fans anyways, if they are they are not true fans, they don't actually want her to succeed. They still want to keep her to themselves and not share her with the rest of the world. I seen so many people that like nasty and because of nasty start exploring her discography and instantly becoming fans.

I seen so many people that like nasty and because of nasty start exploring her discography and instantly becoming fans. Dumb is pretty harsh, but I understand your frustration. I do think there is some gatekeeping going on...some of them want her to stay where she is so she can always be the "underrated underdog". I also see a lot of "I've been a fan, where have you all of been at?" also. Neither work because if we want to see her support increase and potential growth in opportunities, hit songs need to happen! The fact that more eyes are on her is the time to introduce her to new people or remind people of who she is without being shady or negative towards them. She has not had the machine behind her, so naturally many in the GP are only aware of her bigger songs! Also, even if you dislike Nasty, the fact that Tinashe is getting this much positive attention, buzz and PRESS is a good thing. No matter how you try to spin it. Just because it didn't happen the way you wanted it to is null and void. Edited May 21 by kishi 2
