Lightbringer007 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 the way their plan backfired on them BAD sjjsjsjs #BeyonceFTW
Mordecai Posted February 17 Posted February 17 How can people say this not country with a straight face and then say something like 10,000 Hours which is a pure pop song is country
HANZ94 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Beyoncé has the chance to make history with this country album and change things in the music industry cause this is literal racism imagine if she finally wins AOTY with this country record it would be like a double win 2

It would be great if the songs organic success so far actually persuades a lot of country stations to play it (even more if they’ll continue to play country songs by other black artists who are not as well known as Beyoncé) 1
jdanton2 Posted February 18 Posted February 18 i think the song is a grower for me despite me not really liking Country . also did not know until i saw this thread that Dolly Parton had a #1 Country song with a song written by Donna Summer. 1

Beyonce doesn't need country radio and I get stanning can sometimes get carried away but country music barely plays legit country songs from legit country female artists. I hope you all are not thinking country radio had a plan to sabotage Beyonce's new songs. They are likely not playing her new song and it will still be a hit and probably won't even be submitted to country categories (likely pop and/or americana). This isn't even a sliver of Old Town Road and the push it had against it (since it wasn't a country song anyways) which would legitimize your argument.

It’s peak makes sense It's as much country as Meant To Be and that peaked at #1 on Country Airplay

TH'E can be MASSIVE just off of Pop Radio airplay alone. However, Beyoncé has the power to influence and diversify country radio's sound. The fact that Country Radio barely plays women at all is a problem. The fact that Country Radio doesn't play legit country songs because of whatever bias they're projecting on the artist is a problem. And if it takes Beyonce to shine light on bigger issues plaguing country radio then so be it. But her fans are not going to tolerate being blackballed and mis-categorized because "that's just the way it's always been" They're going to apply pressure. And it seems that the pressure is already making a big impact. 1

She is easily the most versatile, innovative and talented pop star of the last 20 years

Her recent country song, Betty (from 2020 Folklore), both critically acclaimed and a fan-favorite only made it to number 32 on Country Airplay. If she had remained a country artist, it would have topped the chart easily. And they have completely ignored all her pop singles after she had declared that she was doing pop.
