"The Feb. 11 Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers brought in an average of 123.4 million viewers — the highest number of people watching the same broadcast in the history of television." Super Bowl 2024 Ratings: 123.4 Million Viewers, Biggest Telecast Ever (variety.com)

@The Music Industrytime to update the topic and put it as official and most watched broadcast in US HISTORY no need to clarify for a SB :deadbanana2:

I mean, is anyone surprised?  The NFL has been delivering record ratings every week.  It would have been more shocking had this NOT been the most watched SB ever :deadbanana:

Looking forward to next season!  Hope TS does the halftime show!

(Consumer research firm Numerator concluded from a flash poll that 20% of Super Bowl viewers were rooting for the Chiefs because of Swift.)

That is INSANE 😯. I don't respect as an artist or as a human being, but her power rn is UNMATCHED.

Why are u so obsessed with JLo? This topic has nothing to with JLo and yet you are talking about her.

You can simply admit that you are a JLover at this point imo

So what will the numbers when she actually PERFORMS?? I somehow feel like the NFL will do all they can to secure her to do the halftime show.

The biggest artist in history. Taylor’s power :WAP:

133 million people watched the Superbowl in 1993, so no it's not. This is either bad journalism or put out on purpose trying to rewrite history. Michael halftime drew over  500 million plus views.

In an effort to increase its profile after being counterprogrammed by an In Living Color special the previous year, the show featured a performance by Michael Jackson. The performance was successful in its goals, causing viewership of the Super Bowl to increase between halves for the first time in the game's history. With 133.4 million viewers, it is claimed to be one of the most watched events in American television history."

Exactly, lets not forget over 1 billion people watching the world cup. Just lying. Also how is she getting credit for this? Their ratings go up every few years.

The title is misleading. It needs to be fixed to “most watched Super Bowl in history” because the most telecast events were the moon landing and Michael Jackson’s thriller premiere which the latter had some insane number like 600M :deadbanana2:

EDIT: wait so it’s not even the most viewed SB? Uh, fix it @mods

Even then it's a lie, I knew they were going to try to spin the ratings for this because they have to justify why so much coverage was put on Taylor and in the end it's not much of increase compared to past Superbowls nor the most watched one. I don't believe their making that much from her either, they just threw out a number with no break downs. How do they know how many people brought a ticket to see Taylor and how is anyone simply mentioning her name generating anyone any money?

That's not true. As per official Nielsen data, the 1993 Super Bowl had 92M viewers.

Also I'm not sure why people are acting dense and bringing up Eurovision and the World Cup. This is an American broadcast, and only includes data from American broadcasters CBS and Paramount+. It obviously goes without saying that it's stats from the US :rip: The equivalent would be barging into every thread with Billboard stats to complain that it doesn't reflect global sales... Like get a grip people :deadbanana2:

Canadians don't usually check in for Super Bowl, other than the football fans. So we were all there for Taylor and some for Usher. :clap3:

The viewership jumping by 8M compared to last year is crazy considering how high the ratings already are. :deadbanana2:

They're also up an insane 22M (!!) compared to the previous Chiefs vs. 49ers matchup from just 4 years ago. This year's Super Bowl was a ratings supernova in every regard, it's crazy. :gaycat6:

The Chiefs becoming a marquee team of the league, Mahomes being the face of football, Usher and ofc Taylor all did that. :clap3:
