Pop Life Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Taylor is currently overexposed. It happens to every celebrity near the end of their imperial phase. She's likely to start experiencing backlash no matter what she does, especially when it's yet another album. 5 minutes ago, dirrtydiana said: Apples and oranges. Beyonce's last release was 2 years ago without any visuals Tay released like 3 whole albums since act I Beyonce partnered with a company that paid her $30M to announce this to world while Tay did it in a tacky way in front of industry colleagues Also this 1
Cruel Summer Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I don’t find the announcements comparable. It was incredibly weird for anyone to take issue with Taylor’s in any way, like super ******* weird, but Beyoncé’s makes just as much sense, as the Super Bowl is basically the biggest advertising opportunity in American culture and any industry should be fair game.
Klein Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Of course all this is hypocritical, but Beyoncé's announcement, just like Taylor's, is perfectly ok. It just explains why the temper tantrums of OTHs are useless (except for increasing Taylor's popularity) and not taken seriously. Between the announcement, the jet situation, the "not acknowledging" a legend... all of this is double standard when it comes to Taylor and other celebrity. Edited February 12 by Klein 1 2

Chris Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I don't know but Queen is about to get that buss torn up tonight.
PerfectSacrifice Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Remember when Beyonce posted a pic of her private jet a week after Taylor got dragged for her emissions, we love to see queens helping each other out
Hunter_13 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Exactly! If Taylor did this to a black man we'd never hear the end of it. It'd be white this and white that! Also, the fact she decided to announce this while Gaza was getting bombed is very nasty spirited.
kwek_kwek Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Well, it’s a commercial and Beyonce paid for it, i think? She did not announce it live and it’s not like she went into the field after Usher’s performance and announce, “Hey, i’m releasing Renaissance Act II on March 29th and you guys can pre-order it now”. 1
Shelter Posted February 12 Posted February 12 No, SB ads is all about promoting your brand, movie and music. Taylor chose to turn her speech into announcing her new album. Maybe she should’ve announced it during a Grammy advert. That’s the difference 2 1
OrgVisual Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Swifties' stupidity reaches next level with these comparisons. Taylor during an AWARDS SHOW: "I am so excited to reveal my new album coming this April blah blah, it's now available for pre-order..." Beyonce during an ADVERTISEMENT that u have to pay millions of $ to air on TV: "They are ready, drop the music" It's not like Bey turned up in the middle of Usher's show to announce her album lmao 2 1
By the Water Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Of course. But that's because people don't actually care about when people announce things, they just want to come up with a reason to hate on Taylor 1
UnusualBoy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Was there even a backlash from Taylor's announcement? This is news for me
The7thStranger Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Do Swifties have lives outside of Taylor? Like, do you do anything else at this point?
