The collapse in streams between the first and the last track on the album tells me everything I need to know about the record.

I said it from the start - he needed a short solo record, not a bloated collab bonanza.

The long ass albums trend is so annoying. That Noah Kahan one had over 30 tracks :coffee2:

Also why include a random appearance on a Jung Kook song?

Theres some good songs on there tho. Quality wise he's always got it

Ya’ll saying SB hype :skull: no one is watching for new music they don’t know from Usher.

He is doing it perfect though. New music, tour all planned around the SB show. I hated how Rih, J Lo, Shakira and others all wasted it.

I don't know if anyone was expecting a huge first day, he will get a good boost from the Superbowl.

Posted

At least the album is #1 on Apple Music

Although it's not really any new release competition

Hopefully it'll rise after the Super Bowl :dancehall:

The way there is zero hype for him and his new music despite the Superbowl is crazy lol.

That’s good for his standard, his career started in the early 90s. Who among his peers could debut higher?

Maybe some of his pop peers (Justin, Enrique, Ricky) but I don’t think any of his R&B peers (Craig David, Joe, Sisqo, Tyrese).

He's kinda peerless in a way (at least when it comes to his follow male and/or rnb acts) because he was arguably the only teenage R&B-pop crossover at time when women were dominating (Monica, Brandy, Destiny’s Child, TLC, Aaliyah, Blaque, 112, J-Lo, Pink) (especially since Tevin Campbell wasn’t as active in the back half of the 90s) and also appealed the TRL pure pop yt suburban crowd (Britney and her wannabes, Backstreet, NSYNC, Enrique, Ricky, Kid Rock, Blink 182, Eminem).

Honestly his two closet peers are Aaliyah and Beyonce. All broke through in the industry in the early 90s as virtuosity child stars, before breaking in wider music in the late 90s, and coming to dominate the 2000s as the biggest act of the decade (sadly him and Bey only).

I saw a meme the other day that said Dua Lipa wrote 97 songs for her album. :rip:

OT: bad numbers, but he'll get a huge boost tomorrow.  He deserves it.  He should be a lot bigger than he is now.  Hopefully this is a huge catalyst for him.

not sure if the superbowl will help this album all that much, we'll see though

she did write 96 for this album! she said they've been written for a while in a notebook she bought from CVS :rip:

They should've released it after the Superbowl :rip:

R&B doesn’t do huge numbers anyways plus he’s a 90’s acts so I’m not surprised it tanked

I’m curious to see how the Super Bowl will affect it

The album had no real hit and itll grow

Y’all are setting him up. This is average but at the level of his current place in the pop landscape. Legacy act with a faithful fanbase from way back.

His Super Bowl won’t benefit this much, unless the GP heavily vibes with a single he happens to perform or he brings Jungkook and get those k-pop streams lol People will mostly stick to the oldies just like other legacy acts and this will have a healthy debut in the charts. Good Good is already a major hit for his current standards

He’s independent, no?

So I’m not that surprised.
