alestevens Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Because haters thought that with her touring overseas maybe their faves would finally stand a chance, and then got mad when they realized she would continue to stomp. Hence why they didn't get mad at the multiple other artists that promoted, premiered or announced new music releases on the same night. 1

There are 52 weeks in the year, it’s not like she stays number one all 52 weeks She can release w.e she wants, people and the industry are just fed up with her over saturation since 2020. 1 1 1 2
Polgg48 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 eminem disagree tho, he wasnt alone either over her insufferable behaviors on that night. false narrative as always.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back for me and many others in terms of Gaga oversaturation and unrealistic hype, but looking back it was nowhere near what we have with Taylor now. Thankfully she isn't very popular in mainland Europe (only has 2 big chart hits in a career of almost 20 years - Shate It Off and Anti Hero, how embarrassing) so it's still easy to avoid most of the stuff regarding her in rl, but the Anglosphere has it rough rn. 2 2
LIDDOATIN Posted February 14 Posted February 14 because GP is sick of hearing Taylor Swift but Media/Publications are spoonfeeding her anyway because it gives em traffic/ratings from the Cult Bubble that are Swifties 1 1 2
NEUTRON Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Gaga did it once while Taylor does it like clockwork. At some point the gimmick was bound to get tired. 1
Titanbaddie Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I think it's just symptom of Taylor fatigue, everything she does seems controversial now. Very Beyonce post-2016. 1
kwek_kwek Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I think Taylor wasn’t dragged when she announced Midnights at VMAs? Because Grammys and VMAs are different.
C_Colstead Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I'm a Swift anti, but I'll never understand why people are dragging her for this? Like... she announced her album at an event in which she won, and said that she was going to announce it later that week if she didn't win. What exactly is the problem here? Having said that, I do think a Snakegate-type scenario is brewing for Taylor in the sense that people are looking for any reason they can to hate on her (see: the Celine thing, also blown out of proportion imo) because she is everywhere, and being shoved down people's throats re. media exposure all the time. 1

What’s actually embarrasing is the notion that someone can embark on such a sprawling European tour thanks to “having only 2 big chart hits”.
vince_martin88 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Because one disrespected a legend and the other was polite to a legend. The Taylor lashings can be rooted from the Celine disrespect.
dumbsparce Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Didn't Cardi B do the same too? And everyone was living for it. Maybe Taylor's mistake was that she didn't end the announcement with a "nnneeeyyaaawwwhh"
Bones Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I mean do we not remember what happened to her at that vmas with the meat dress tbh I low-key started to unstan….
Archetype Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Both of their announcements were completely harmless. Anyone getting upset at Taylor for "snubbing" Celine or announcing a new album are likely bitter that she's so consistently successful. I get that people are tired of her winning for so long, but they need to realize that their faves are lazy and can barely put out more than two albums every 6 years. The Grammys are about music and Taylor is one of the few artists who has literally devoted her entire life to her music. 1
Bey_Rihstan Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I mean either way it's stupid but Gaga had released her anticipated second album & Taylor announced her .... 11th? (9th release in 7 years) it's like YAY! another one lkjflkdjfakldsjf
