The way everyone and their grandmothers had heard of her was unlike anything in the 21st century. And even more impressive is that, unlike Adele, she went unknown -----> THE BIGGEST ARTIST IN THE WORLD in her debut era. Incredible debut.

People forget that these huge peaks are short-lived. Even MJ's post-Thriller albums were already a decline and less than a decade after his peak he was selling albums like a regular pop act often outsold by his nearest competitors. Consistency lasts but peaks don't so you can apply this to any other artist. Adele as well.

Dangerous was a decade after Thriller and sold 30M.

 

“Regular” pop acts were not selling that and it’s not comparable to Gaga going from 40M to ARTPOP in less than 5 years

 

Y’all need to make up your mind as well if it’s 2 albums or not.

What is it about three Taylor stans downvoting my comment about Gaga having the second biggest peak era of all time when both in chartmasters and charts globally and its singles TF:M was bigger than Taylor's 1989 era? Even Google Trend searches showcases more traction to Gaga during her imperial phase when releasing MUSIC than Swift at any given point in her career 

 

Why do they think Taylor is above everyone else? Like this type of arrogant behaviour is only going to add to your faves downfall once it happens.

Dangerous was out in 1991 and that's less than a decade after Thriller and was outsold by Metallica and Nirvana along with falling behind Celine Dion and Mariah Carey in the subsequent years. Oh, and Whitney. 

 

I meant that Michael was no longer THE #1 per era. Even someone like him experienced a decrease in popularity so Gaga's peak in 2009-11 - no matter how low she'd go - would've never continued regardless.
