I’m long over the Celine Dion thing but as a passive observer I note that not all of the internet is (at least not yet). This could not be further from the truth. There isn't a subtle narrative of calling her a narcissist because she's been called that/ calculated/ fake/ stuck up her entire career by the same people who hate her guts, yet that never really sticks cause it's so far away from the truth. The people calling her a narcissist now are the same who called her a **** in 2012 and calculated in 2016 2 1

Atlantis Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Well her PR has done so much these past few days even though it's not even necessary because in the eyes of her stans she can do no wrong (I'd know because my sister loooves her) but it's their job so...The instant picture with Celine after completely ignoring her, suddenly selling her jets, the co2 emission thing being ''debunked'' and her actually not even being in top 30, Lana and Celine posting how much they love her etc

Storm653 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) The thing with Taylor is that she's extremely calculated which both helps and hurts her. It helps her win against the hate trains because she's not actually getting caught up in self-destructive activity and behavior that would contribute to her demise. She plays up the "girl next door" image hard and works hard to make her brand and image family friendly and accessible. You're not going to see Taylor cursing people out on social media, getting into cat fights, getting drunk or hooked on drugs on video, being a homewrecker, having mental breakdowns, getting accused of assault, or posting negative/racist tweets online. She's too smart to put herself in that position. That's why people are clinging hard to the "private jet" thing so hard because it's the one Hail Mary that can be used to make Taylor seem "bad." On the flip side, the way Taylor moves can be viewed as inauthentic by many and we live in an age where people expect pop stars to be authentic, vulnerable, and have relatable problems. Sometimes, even "trainwrecks" will be found more alluring than Taylor for this reason. Either way, Taylor is just straight up not a bad person. And this is the music industry we're talking about which is full of toxic and mentally ill people with skeletons in their closets. That's essentially why Taylor wins in the end. People thought the "Snake Era" of 2016-2019 would end her for good but, once the evidence showed that Kanye/Kim lied, it was never the same and Folklore/Evermore came out and totally erased the stigma from that era.
