I think it would still sell above 1M copies but nothing close to what it did in that first week. As much as people say that's impressive, and it is, it's not more impressive than Midnights and 1989TV selling close to 2M while being available to everyone on streaming. This comment doesn’t even make sense. You’re talking as if there are 2 different groups of people buying an album and streaming an album. The majority of people that buy will also stream. And if anything in 2024 streams PUSH album sales and it’s only a benefit for the artists. If 1989tv or midnights were not available on streaming they would not have debuted with +1m and that’s a fact! stop downgrading someone else’s success to make your fave look like the best thing ever 1 1
Eat The Acid Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Streaming darling. People don’t buy music any more. This isn’t 2015.

If anything being on streaming would have made 25 go higher, not lower.

supertiffany Posted February 8 Posted February 8 She doesnt have zombie fanbase that streams her songs 24/7 while sleeping Adele has always been a gp darling who does not spam streams and her fanbase is small 1
Tylerbv Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I bought it first week. Album sales also severely declined from 2015 to 2021. Nothing weird. Adele’s still a massive seller.
Popboi. Posted February 8 Posted February 8 25 was benefited from the unmatched hype from 21, pure sales not being as beyond tarnished as in 2021, Hello being a monumental success and her promotional campaign grabbing the attention of multiple generations. On top of not being available on streaming. By the time 30 came out she didn’t have the same hype, also waited way too long to release it (a lot of people were turned off by the wait), Easy on Me, despite being huge, wasn’t exactly a Hello, and all the campaign for the album was almost non existent after it came out (if anything it damaged it - see the Vegas mess). And of course… streaming set in and even the people who were willing to buy 25 were not into buying physical copies anymore, and all her physical copies were too boring AND overpriced to really grab the attention of a casual or potential fan.
