Because, as said repeatedly before, the list Taylor was #1 on wasn't accurate because it only included specific celebrities, not all of them. It doesn't mean Taylor's usage of private jets is a non-issue, but does mean that the lists are inaccurate.

It's funny to see some of you switch up on this though, I thought you little eco warriors care so much about the environment? :gaycat3: This just proves that the issue for a lot of people was always with the person, not the cause. Not that it needed proving considering how painfully obvious it was.

So basically this list is not even remotely accurate because most celebrities are not posting their destinations on Instagram or Twitter.

If you click on the celebrity's name, the source is Instagram links (:rip:) rather than flight data.

Also, we don't know if they're flying commercial or having a whole jet for themselves from their Instagram. Emissions should be divided by person if they're flying commercial, which some of these Z-list celebrities clearly are.

Yes taylor was clearly #1 in 2022 when she wasn't touring. Shes obviously still #1 for 2023

Funnily enough she had sued Jack's instagram account tracking her flights a while ago too and made him delete it

List in OP only includes flights celebs publicly shared.

Taylor does not share hers...

? Is this a trolling attempt or are you just dense? You misread my post, jumped the gun, made yourself look like a fool and now has no point left to make anymore. That's ok to admit.

Let me break it down for you. These lists are pretty much never accurate. We will likely never know who the top individual polluters are, and if we ever do have an actual list one day with every celebrity, every political figure and every businessman worldwide, I promise it would look VERY different from everything that we know so far. That is my point.

Whatever point you were trying to make, I hope you find it soon.

An accurate list from actual flight data from a select few celebrities vs an inaccurate list based only on flights posted about on social media.

That is the point I am trying to make. :penguin:

Both lists are inaccurate.

The website in the OP is not only based purely off social media posts. The log for Influencers are, the private jets are not. Taylor is No. 29 for the 2022 Private Jet list, she hasn't posted her flights on social media in probably a decade -- this alone shows there's actual data involved beyond social media posts. And if we're gonna go with which list is more complete, one could argue that this list has a far larger sample because it actually includes international celebrities, businessmen & more, which the other list mostly did not beyond a the few notables in Top 10 wealthiest (Bezos, Gates, Zuckeberg). Not to mention the Twitter account that was the source for it also stopped tracking someone for $5,000 and some favors. What's a source if it can be bought off?

We can argue all day about which list is more 'accurate', but it's pointless because at this point it's practically arguing over semantics as both lists are ultimately incomplete, inaccurate and not credible. At the end of the day, all these celebrities, politicians, businessmen, etc are all part of the problem (yes, Taylor included) and "actually the pollution on this list isn't as bad because some of it are based off only social media posts!" is not the environmental justice argument people think it is. If we're gonna tout one list as an issue, then so is the other. It's both or neither.
