Nope, it's a fan forced #1 but maybe it was too ahead of its time for some people

Not really,  @KOMH has done such a good job updating us on its chart performance, as well as the rest of the swifties, this has been discussed already on the threads made about the chart predictions some days ago, so no, there was no surprise when the chart was announced :celestial5:

In her pursuit of gay icon status, Ari has simply started mimicking a Kylie Minogue chart run. Queen!

I like the song and can’t wait for the album hope it’s all house music inspired

also she’s got nothing left to prove it’s not like she’s a new artist she’s a legacy act now

a house song doing poorly in the US and amazing globally? color me surprised, this has never happened before :omg:

It's a pop song, Max Martin is there. Why you acting like this is a folk song? Stick Season  folk song is smashing.

I don't get the Hold It Against Me comparisons.

Britney still felt like a megastar during its release and the song's release felt huge

It’s ATRL over exaggerating.

HIAM was a big event and the song broke records and remained much longer in the top 10 despite the label making the whole release a mess.

I’m starting to really enjoy Ariana’s Yes And. It’s a grower but the release (and upcoming album) certainly don’t feel like events and the unusual fall for Ariana is also proving it. High peak but forgettable moment.

It made 0 noise after the first week so not really surprised. Where is she btw? Why is she not promoting her music at all? She’s releasing a new album next month and it feels like no one is talking about it.

YA should have been performed at Grammy like Katy did with CTTR.

It’s a bad song but any gay hating this is actively an idiot. She literally says “Boy, come on, put your lipstick on” in the midst of the anti-trans propaganda height. You’d have to be an absolute moron to not support her for the lyric alone, whether you like the song or not.

The Nickelodeon show she once did was a long time ago and the fans of that show who feel nostalgic towards it are not as engaged with her newer content specifically in the U.S. where dance/ pop music is down-low hated by white straight audiences due to the influence of radio DJ’s with mass audience reach.

At a point in time those national DJ’s collectively made a decision dance/ pop is culturally Un-American music and don’t wish to playlist it which means Ariana’s music won’t find a new U.S. audience (if she stays in that genre).

However, dance/ pop makes her more relatable internationally so it’s a difficult balance to strike for any artist.
