xokuba Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Why is the lampshade on the cover floating in the air without a stand?

noonbob Posted February 7 Posted February 7 ******* ****, ****! I LOVE Gwen, but this is pissing me off. This is boring! I'm bored with this ****. Give us new No Doubt material or classic solo Gwen. 1
GwennyGwenGwen Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) This is SO good and SO Gwen...Blake is gonna put some you off (I get it), but the song is FANTASTIC and i am so excited for the album now. It's basically a No Doubt song ft. Blake Shelton lol...there is no country here. Edited February 8 by GwennyGwenGwen 2
Hooker Barbie Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Okay but... why is this song credited to Warner Music Nashville and not Interscope?

This song is actually quite dark lol. Everything fades, everything dies Put me in a vase, but you can't, you can't stop time It's not 1999, but this face is still mine Edited February 8 by GwennyGwenGwen
Saint James Posted February 8 Posted February 8 sounds like country to me. so nice and breezy. i love her vocal! not her best single, but the most obvious single choice since TSE era.

You think? to me if Blake wasn't on it, and it was on Push and Shove , nobody would bat an eye! But it is just country adjacent enough that it could be a hit on country radio, and hopefully help it crossover. And yeah, her vocals are gorgeous! Makes me so excited for her album. 1
jhmacal Posted February 8 Posted February 8 her vocals are on point, the song sounds like a bop, but I get while it's pissing people off he's on the track especially after the ND reunion announced I think people just want old Gwen back but she has evolved, we will never have the it-girl Gwen from the 90s/00s
goldstargay Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Blake is the gift with purchase you throw away when you get home b/c you only wanted what you bought!! ENOUGH GWEN! 7
GwennyGwenGwen Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Honestly, this is kind of the single that Push and Shove was missing lol

Both Settle Down and Push and Shove as singles were kinda weird. They're clunky songs with complex earworms: they aren't as immediate or lush in melody like some other songs on that album (Gravity, Easy, etc) If Looking Hot was less...that...and more on the nose with Gwen voguing, and One More Summer dropped as a single, I think it would've fared better.

Purple Irises reminds me of Dreaming the Same Dream, but with a bigger, grander chorus. 1

DTSD is the best song of 2012 so this has me very intrigued 5 hours ago, Hooker Barbie said: Okay but... why is this song credited to Warner Music Nashville and not Interscope? She could actually get herself a hit out of this one if they play their cards right.
fulgadrum Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) i just listened to it. it's pretty good; it sounds more intentional than her last few releases. just feel like the chorus and verses are kinda at odds with eachother, the verses sound veeery ND but the chorus sounds like it belongs to a different song altogether. we'll see how it shakes out with repeated listens. edit: the bridge is something straight outta LAMB. SlowGinFizzzz Posted February 8 Posted February 8 This is actually beautiful! Definitely agree that it's giving Dreaming The Same Dream in the verses, it also reminds me of Undone a bit. Overall it's more classic rock than country, which I appreciate. And surprisingly I can even tolerate Blake's vocals? Now let me keep streaming and keep my fingers crossed that this will do well enough for her label and team to finally greenlight the album release.
reymiu Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I had my doubts but this is surprisingly solid and I can see the song growing on me too
Pillz Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) I love it, wish it had less banjo in it Edited February 13 by Pillz 1
XtinaStripped Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) I wish it had someone else on it. Enough songs with him already. The song's not bad and actually sounds very Gwen. Edited February 9 by XtinaStripped
MatiRod Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Her best single since “Used to Love You” So glad she leaned into 80s pop like on LAMB Ive missed you Gwen
Scandalous Posted February 9 Posted February 9 yeah this is actually a really nice song. this is the smartest kind of single she could do at this point 1
