naval23 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 The amount of hate this bop gets is so not fair Projected to be another #1 for her, it was released as the lead single of Damita Jo shortly after the Superbowl controversy, and stalled at #45 on the Hot 100, becoming her lowest peaking single in over 20 years since her 1983 single Come Give Your Love to Me, and began a string of underperformances for her. It has less than 1 million streams on Spotify, and has 272k YouTube views. 1 1

vince_martin88 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 OMG Yasss! Damita Jo was the first and only Janet era I've witnessed first hand. Super underrated!
Moth 2 The Flame Posted February 2 Posted February 2 At least Japan & Canada supported this release rather than follow along with the US and other international markets in abandoning Janet following the Superbowl controversy. It ended up as a #2 year-end international airplay hit in Japan and peaked at #3 in Canada. 5

LadyDiana Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Come on guys, this was so dull... horrible first single from what could have been decent era for her. I love janet. but this was, and still is, not iT!

In the United States, "Just a Little While" quickly became the most added and played song on pop radio formats upon its release. Its airplay increased over 500% in contrast to airplays before its official release and achieved "sizeable" downloads. It debuted at number 47 on the week dated February 21, 2004, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the "hot shot debut" of the week. It was destined for at least a top 5 but Les was really out to get her. 4

I don't understand the recurrent streams though A random album track from Damita Jo has like 3 million streams on Spotify and Just A Little While doesn't even have a mlllion?! Did her team forget to put it on streaming? @GoodGuyGoneGhetto Edited February 2 by naval23 1
umich Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I still giggle at her wearing that same dress in the video that was from her Super Bowl set but OT I’ve loved this song since day 1. Just another example of her showing her diverse range of singles material. 1
Bloodflowers. Posted February 2 Posted February 2 She ended Avril and P!nk with this pop rock classic The song always reminds me of what a song on Sims 2 for Playstation 2 would sound like

Not that it's much better, but there is a fan upload of the MV well over a decade ago on youtube that is near 400k views as well. Plus also gotta mention the fact the MV has scenes of Janet filming herself having fun at home and doing little dances to send to her lover shows how ahead of the curve she was, what with TikTok now being major.
AdrianNicki Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I love Damita Jo but this song was not a great choice for a single, especially lead single. It doesn't even fit the album that much. I remember there was a remix that was so much better that the album version, I don't remember the name though.
JoAddams Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) It's bop, should have been a hit Edited February 2 by JoAddams
SoldierofLove Posted February 2 Posted February 2 It’s a certified #1 hit in my household! It’s so fun and catchy. I really do feel that it was destined to top the charts. Leslie Roy Moonves, may you continue to ROT! 1

UnanimousBB16 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 One of the weaker tracks of the era, and her weakest lead.
Imagine Dragon Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) This song SLAPS and it still sounds fresh. Edited February 2 by Imagine Dragon
GreatestLoveofAll Posted February 3 Posted February 3 definetly deserved more tho i dont know if it would have been a number one hit. She was very much robbed.
