Both Sides Now Posted January 31 Posted January 31 The number of people who actually listen to female rap is extremely small. You can count the number of breakthrough female rap smashes on your hands. Female rap doesn’t appeal to basically any straight men and most white women and gays. That tiny demography of listeners has been intentionally divided up even further by Nicki Minaj. She has used her cult-like status to smear any woman who challenged her commercially. The female rap industry is so ******* toxic by the design of one singular person. Don’t cry when it backfires on the person who designed it that way 6 2
Digitalism Posted January 31 Posted January 31 (edited) Gays are asking to buy song not because they like it but because they want to see someone having a mental breakdown? Some people act like they are better than Nicki and they are just as unhinged Edited January 31 by Digitalism 1 3

Or Bongos? Be for real and be honest I don't know where you got this conclusion from because I've always supported Meg - Nicki isn't the only talented rap girl deserving of support, and you know that. It's ridiculous to assume that when we support Meg for her song to go #1, we are hating on Nicki, unless it's VERY obvious for some users who like to pit them against each other Hiss just happens to be a hit, thus in general, it's getting discussed more ESPECIALLY in a site like ATRL. Frappucino Posted January 31 Posted January 31 I’m team Megan but what I’d really want is to see other rappers thrive such as Rico Nasty and Asian Doll. Cupcakke is long due her flowers too, how does a song like WAP smash but a song like Grillin doesn’t?

Your deliberate deflection and missing of the obvious point is direct proof of my thoughts that your intentions are evil and not those of a supporter. Even calling Meg independent and indie can be taken as a bit weird? Would we say this about a white artist of her magnitude? Since she IS independent and indie = independent, why would we NOT call her indie? And any other artist that's in the same spot would also be just that
truthteller Posted January 31 Posted January 31 last time i checked, we're competing with Jack Harlow's multi-weeks #1 song Lovin on Me. So where's the "pitting women against each other" accusation coming from? 3

This is pop music, this is a POP MUSIC FORUM, essentially an echo chamber for this sort of very rare phenonemon to be happening for a RAP SONG that has NO RADIO SUPPORT yet. We live for these sort of moments, let us have fun little foot!
Pheromosa Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Yes I am buying Thursday Will deflate Nicki's ego and ass all in one swoop!

And that’s why we would like to see Ms. Peddy knocked down several many pegs It would be nice to see many women thrive without her kicking and screaming at all times. She is such a disgusting woman-hater, truly. I’m also sick of everyone having to pretend like she’s the “Queen of Rap” for so long when her whole career has been boosted by pop songs and remixing, sorry, sampling pop songs, and when there are so many female rappers who came before her and changed the game for her! The way she acts like she is somehow above or more important than Lil Kim, Missy, Eve, Queen Latifah, Lauryn Hill etc. is insane. 1

Eternium Posted January 31 Posted January 31 6 hours ago, KatyPrismSpirit said: alright. yall continuously admit to only stan and support her to spite nicki. its cardi b all over again. i’ll see all of yall when her album struggles to push 70k Have you thought some of us are just happy to see a black woman winning after everyone clowned her for being a victim of abuse? Nicki is not the only artist catching strays in “Hiss.” 1 1

Hm, the more you know I guess 1
modeblock Posted January 31 Posted January 31 nawt the girlies deflecting to BUT CAPITALISM AND MENNNDNDN if you actually cared about those topics you'd be somewhere else having a serious discussion about it. this Issa pop culture forum so we discuss DRAGGINGS and LASHINGS no matter the genders involved, butttT because we stan women more than men, those are the beefs that we care about more. this is beyond atrl and twitter now anyway, I have my boomer latino mom asking me about this....its weird. love it for Megan tho, she's a stunning talent and just a naturally good person who deserves all the good things she has and more.

Hm, the more you know I guess You missed the point If you’re a fan of female rap you should be happy to listen to Nicki, Cardi, Megan, whoever. Except since you are a Barb you’re not allowed like Megan. Or Lil Kim. Or Cardi. Or Remy. Or Glorilla. Or Latto. Or Doja. Or anyone Nicki has decided is a threat to her. She has poisoned the female rap industry. The hilarious thing is that it has come back around to her in a fabulous way. Enjoy! 1 1
