HISS is a great song but If Nicki didn't have a one week long meltdown it wouldn't even debut in the Top 10. Nicki shouldn't be mad at Roc Nation, she should be mad at herself. But Im glad the song got the exposure and success. Nicki is gonna fume. Hiss was predicted #30 before Nicki started to talk about it

punisher Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 i was thinking today and what i find so weird is why didn’t she go this hard for latto? latto directly called her out for being married and related to pedophiles, DIRECTLY. quoted tweeted her and everything. but meg used one bar that could’ve easily been related to someone else and nicki went crazy saying “YOU CAN’T MESS WITH MY FAMILY”, and when latto said it but 10x worst nicki was calm and barely cared. there is definitely some other motive behind her anger and trust me it ain’t the drinking thing because nicki fw her even after that. unless it’s something behind closed doors ima assume it’s because of WAP or Roc Nation. 2
justin. Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Oh, so she's alive? I was getting worried! Glad she saw that lovely tweet. 1

I think I saw her on two mag covers about Grammys just this past week. Feels like they’re creating a narrative for her to win. But idk maybe that’s because she’s one of the most nominated…? BNA seems like the award she would most likely win tho. I agree with @professor2000 that Ice Spice doesn't seem to be a frontrunner for BNA. Despite having stronger representation compared to other General Field categories, rappers mainly tend to win here when there's a strong narrative surrounding them. For instance, Megan's 2021 victory (the first for a female emcee since Lauryn Hill in 1999), who was not only benefitting from "WAP" 's cultural moment and her label debut "Good News" being released during the voting period, but also external factors like her public struggles with her label and her achieving a breakthrough despite this. Ice Spice, similarly to Latto last year, is unlikely to gather passion from voters beyond their commercial success. In my view, Best New Artist this year is between Victoria Monét, Jelly Roll, and Noah Kahan. The former two have strong narratives as artists who've been in the industry for more than a decade now but only got their mainstream breakthroughs recently, while Kahan is the exciting new talent who shone brightest during the eligibility and voting periods in terms of commercial success and critical acclaim + co-signs (Olivia Rodrigo, Zach Bryan, Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Hozier). Had "Barbie World" been nominated for 'Best Melodic Rap Performance', I think it could end up being Spice's consolation prize, but it seems odd that it even got nominated for 'Best Rap Song' in the first place (ditto for "Rich Flex" and "Just Wanna Rock" - the latter which I absolutely adore but had no business in a lyric-focused category). We never know with the Scammys, but I think this one will end up between Killer Mike and Doja Cat. I think "Karma" (remix) on Best Pop Duo/Group Performance is Ice Spice's best chance for a win tomorrow. It's the biggest hit by technicality thanks to the solo version being big on radio, and that's how this category typically goes. Would love to be proven wrong, though, because as tragic as this year's line-up was, the other four nominees are vastly superior quality-wise. 2
