okgo Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Netflix added 13.12 million subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2023, well above expectations of 8.9 million. The company now has 260.8 million paid subscribers, a new record for the streamer. Edited January 23 by okgo
Itz_Dani! Posted January 23 Posted January 23 But everyone was saying Netflix is over? I don’t get it?
Bubble Tea Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Ugh well $15 NZD of that is me having been forced to sign up after getting kicked off my friend's account because of netflix's password sharing crackdown All I do is watch Gilmore Girls re-runs anyway
Varrock Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I guess cracking down on password sharing actually worked now all the other companies will swiftly follow suit 2 1 1
Domination Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Ugh whyyy. I’m suprised but Netflix is such an inferior product it’s unreal how much allegiance the GP has to it.
Taylena Posted January 23 Posted January 23 But streaming is dying according to the experts on ATRL. 1
dawnettakins Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Netflix continues to win even after all the atrlers told us it was over and is not good and will continue to do terrible. What went right (for Netflix) and wrong (for Atrl)? Edited January 23 by dawnettakins
John Slayne Posted January 23 Posted January 23 really? i feel like the content gets stale quickly tbh, I'll probably cancel mine soon

Life Savers Posted January 23 Posted January 23 But ATRL told us the password sharing crackdown was going to end Netflix?
GeeDuval Posted January 23 Posted January 23 They keep releasing top notch shows and films I mean I get it. And they have contracts with a lot of international companies to release foreign shows and films.
Bosque Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) The way ATRL is always wrong about everything needs to be studied more and more production companies are starting to license their content back to Netflix too, after losing hundreds of millions on their own unprofitable streaming services. 38 minutes ago, 45seconds said: It’s not profitable either. They made a billion dollar in profits just this quarter sis Edited January 23 by Dephira 3 2
Badgalbriel Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The way Netflix had such an amazing catalog a few years ago and now all the other companies ruined it by releasing their individual services. Streaming was supposed to be one place where all the movies are available. If I have to pay for 10 different streaming services, then I might just as well pay for cable.

I just gave up and now I watch stuff on YouTube. I tried to mess with a lot of streaming services but I’m just tired of getting into a show only for it to get canceled.
blackoutbritney Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I feel like this will set a bad example for the other services. They’re all going to continue to try and get away with murder as it’s worked for Netflix
Harrier Posted January 24 Posted January 24 The golden era of password sharing is over and I hate to see it
Nights Posted January 24 Posted January 24 1 hour ago, Life Savers said: But ATRL told us the password sharing crackdown was going to end Netflix? Which was so confusing to me. The crackdown sucks for most of us personally but was an obvious business move for Netflix and other streaming services. How could people really be throwing that much vitriol as they were towards Netflix for not allowing one person to share their $10 account with numerous others ? Weird.
