Not sure why people would expect Nintendo, which has a game with bird-like animals, to sue Palword just cause it's also a game with bird-like animals :rip: Let's be real, most Pokemon (as well as most pals) are just random existing animals with big eyes slapped on

That’s a hedgehog, a wolf, a dog and Anubis… a well known Egyptian god

Yes I'm aware

Nintendo has sued for less, however

Not sure if I want to try the game myself but the drama surrounding it is certainly entertaining.

Number 2 peak of all time on steam is crazy :rip:

if Nintendo can prove they are kitbashing I wonder if this will all come crashing down. I’m interested in the game and was rolling my eyes at the “AI’d Pokémon!!!” Discourse but if they actually used Pokémon’s 3D models to make their monsters that’s definitely grounds for legal action imo

It's so massive that if Nintendno actually made it shut down, the outcry would be insane. And to make matters worse, this is on Steam which doesn't have any games by them.

Excited for it to pass SV’s 23M sales :clap3:

Cute video describing the game

This is actually good for Nintendo cause this proves a potential new direction in the market for them.. :celestial5:

Wouldn’t be surprised if a Pokémon version of this game isn’t in the making starting now lol…..

I played it with a buddy and... it's definitely not a good game. It has a heavy emphasis on crafting, so it's really more Ark than Pokemon, and it doesn't even do that particularly well. The survival aspects are poorly optimised, the map is bland as hell, and the combat is some of the worst I've seen in a recent release.

I know it's early access and it's quite polished with that in mind, but it's definitely not worthy of the hype. While I'd LOVE to see Gamefreak finally put some effort into their games, the reality is that fools keep buying Pokemon games, so having this ripoff be a success doesn't do much to encourage them to do better.

Gamers seem very easily manipulated, tbh. Thank goodness for Baldur's Gate and Zelda last year, because between viral games like Palworld and Hogwarts Legacy, there's a landslide of suggestible gamers happy to ruin an industry with uninspired content... content being the operative word.

For an early access game it’s incredibly high quality.

It’s not actually early access. The company ran out of money at $6.75M and that’s why they released the game. They’re funding future work.

Yo-Kai Watch deserved

Yokai Watch sold more and brought in significantly more revenue.

actually if they were true fans they would root for Palworld to succeed so Game Freak finally do better

only the mentally challenged would be mad at competition

Competition is not the same thing as stealing assets and art. I’m sure GameFreak wants to see them make more money because they’re about to get a massive check from Palworld.

Diva, you need to look a little into what intellectual property is :skull: They stole character designs and actual assets from Pokemon. That is beyond theft and incredibly unacceptable.

Over half of the creatures are plagiarized:

Anubis has the exact same body shape as Lucario. The wolf is an exact copy of Lycanroc with a different color palette. The dog has Lucario’s face and ears, which are re-used. And the hedgehog has Shaymin’s body. You would have a point if they didn’t steal art for over half of their creatures.

This is good. Pokémon as a game hasn't had that muchh of an evolution because the fanbase is too big, too loyal and eventually surrender to buying mediocrity.

This is good because when Yo-kai Watch was deemed the next Pokémon Killer, they tried to change the standard formula (even though it still feels familiar).
