Dialamba Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Run the world is iconic but break my soul…horrible lead single choice
KatyPrismSpirit Posted January 19 Posted January 19 run the world was amazing i dont get the hate. but yea break my soul was pretty mid
UnusualBoy Posted January 19 Posted January 19 One of the best for sure although RTW is mid, the rest go from good to perfection.

SlowGinFizzzz Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I don't think she's the only MPG without a bad lead single (I would argue Madonna qualifies too, and yes, GMAYL was iconic), but yeah, Bey's were definitely amazing. The double lead single release from Self-Titled was particularly great, and I also think the way she turned Run The World into a classic in the public consciousness through her sheer willpower, despite its relative lack of chart success, was simply legendary. 1 1
Maroonx Posted January 19 Posted January 19 why are some of yoll hating on RTW (Girls)... I love it, it's such a bop
byzantium Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Some of these are fine at best. Also…Rihanna? If you think these Beyonce songs are good then you need to give it to Ariana too. Also Adele?
Mornings Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Run the world was received so poorly because the beat was already so popular and unchanged. britneys AI version of Break My Soul > and that how you know it’s rough
nostalgic Posted January 19 Posted January 19 With the exception of RTW, yes. That song was so beneath her as an artist.
Rod Hudson Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Not when Run the World (Girls) and Break My Soul exist
Iyanla, Fix Me Posted January 19 Posted January 19 RTW is one of the most iconic songs ever but I will agree it’s slightly above mid. The rest of Beyoncé’s leads are some of the best songs ever released.
kindararenext Posted January 19 Posted January 19 some of y’all still hate break my soul? that’s a banger 1
Mr. Duff Posted January 19 Posted January 19 To be honest her lead singles aside from Crazy in Love and Deja Vu are all underwhelming If I Were a Boy and XO are cute, okay I’ll give them that. But RTW, BMS and Formation are all just underwhelming tracks that sound like songs Little Mix or Fifth Harmony would release.
Adivnoir Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Run the world is the weakest of this bunch. her leads ranked by era, imo: 1. Dangerously in Love - crazy In love 2. IASF - SL/IIWAB 3. Renny - BMS 4. Lemonade - Formation (would be higher if released correctly) 5. ST - XO/DrIL (XO weighs this down a ton for me) 6. Bday - Deja VU 7. 4 - RTW (terrible leading single for an amazing album, doesn’t represent the album or project at all like I get it brand wise but album/era wise it literally doesn’t make sense.) would’ve been a cute single for the deluxe edition.
Cameltoe Chariot Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Run The World, If I Were A Boy and Break My Soul are all mid tracks that had no business being leads, but okay

Ewan Chaos Posted January 19 Posted January 19 If I Were a Boy is a touch overhated but um... kinda invalidates the title. The rest of her leads are great at worst though!
Triton Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Yes, and with the exception of Crazy In Love they’re not even the best song in the corresponding album. Deja Vu can go choke though.
