punisher Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) they were like the one reviewer that were actually honest and didn’t suck off taylor them and fantano are definitely the most reliable cause they don’t go easy and hand around 8’s and 10’s like it’s nothing Edited January 17 by punisher 3 6
ohwow Posted January 17 Posted January 17 well, having an educated opinion about anything has increasingly mattered less and less, so this isnt surprising it's all about memes, followers, influencers, and tiktok now they did uplift a lot of random good indie acts that wouldn't have been as discovered otherwise tho, so kinda sucks 2
B-Luke Posted January 17 Posted January 17 On a serious note, this is very saddening. Seeing all the great staff members announce their farewell from the brand on Twitter mere minutes/hours after having written their last articles probably. I really do hope they come up with some sort of spinoff. I check the page often so this sucks big time, they remained super prolific until this very end. Whatever becomes of this integration won‘t be the same. 6

Parallel Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) Good riddance. Their reviews of women always focused on their personal lives and little on the actual music. Not to mention they need to stay in their lane. Why are you reviewing Tate McRae? Stay in men’s and indie women’s business Edited January 17 by Parallel 9 1 3

Popular Post TRF. Posted January 17 Popular Post Posted January 17 People celebrating this are full-on sociopaths lmao. I am so sorry your fave got a 6.8 instead of a 7.6 and got mildly criticized but I don't think the means to live of many writers as well as the future of music journalism and criticism as a whole should be dependant on whether or not your favorite pop girl gets a glowing review. I don't mind the Halsey jokes but like I genuinely hope people are smart enough to realize this is terrible news. 23 3 2
Popular Post thismoment Posted January 17 Popular Post Posted January 17 One less negative review for KP6 19
WildAmerican Posted January 17 Posted January 17 while i did kii, the consolidation of media outlets is bad for the consumer/free press. people are losing their jobs, layoffs are rampant right now but the eCoNoMy'S gOoD 7
Stankonia Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Big win for the stans of panned girlies like Miley or Katy! 1
readytowind Posted January 17 Posted January 17 They needed to go years ago. A writer or critic who was a stan of Mariah basically terrorized my favorites album for a horrible and hostile review on purpose. They are ****** up. Shut it down soon. They deserve the ****. 3 1
BoDaToe Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Just as I predicted; the decline in relevance for music criticism. Love to see it. 1

If even they are being folded, it's really over for other music publications. Yeah, same. Pitchfork was culturally the most important music publication. The Rolling Stone of the last decade. Also GQ is the one that should be folded. Who the **** reads that **** in 2024? 2 1
