Then why did you even watch the trailer? Unhinged. :deadbanana2:

I've watched so many trailer of stuff I never checked out. Pop culture is my passion and making fun of J. Lo is part of it. :cm:

Somebody who saw how lacklustre every other visual album has been, except perhaps Jungle's, and then decided to do better.

and that's the tea. Miss Lopez might just be about to raise the bar. I didn't see that coming, at all

Okay I watched the music video that is already out (didn't realize anything had been released already) and... I guess I should correct myself from what I was assuming yesterday...it does seem like (if this music video is verbatim from the film) that it'll be a sequence of "skits" patching together what seem to be scenes edited together to be more like music videos than musical performances. And this does take it more to a visual album/standard film hybrid. Though musicals present their music in many different ways, it's that sort of omnipotent sung "narration" and the way its editing that makes it feel more like a video, less like a standard musical scene in a film.

I will say, I'm not sure if this is a wise artistic choice though. Straddling the line between two very similar but different forms works if there is balance or complimentary aspects. I'm not sure I got that from the video itself. I kind of feel like the film as a whole would be better had it been directed as a standard musical based on the content of her album. The (one) music video (so far) seems not fully realized in concept. The constant interspersing of dialogue is a bit distracting for a "music video" and the editing feels almost inelegant in the way its added to the musical scene.

Anyway, I am willing to be wrong again about this. But at this point we just have conjecture I guess.
