It has more film conventions than Black Is King but is not linear like a movie either. There's a lot of films that aren't linear though. I just mentioned linearity because in the case of Black is King, it's partly what contributes to it not being "a collection of videos". I understand that this is to be considered a visual album too, but judging from the trailer it seems more in the fact that it's presented as such, and less about what it is on paper relative to the "visual album" conventions that we have. Marry Me could also have been called a visual album had J.Lo just branded it that way. And technically any musical could upload the musical moments and call them music videos. Mornings Posted January 17 Posted January 17 It looks dreadful. I am so tired of hearing about your relationships, J LO

Trent W Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) If they spend all that money they should’ve just done a whole ass new film, with an actual script and not a personal story. No one is going to pay to see a visual album from JLo in 2024. She hasn’t been musically relevant for 20 years aside from the hit she had in 2011 which was basically a fluke. alfonso12 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Not "visual movie" all movies are visual. Anyways, we haven't even seen it so how are we supposed to know?

It's an Amazon Original Movie, so it's a streaming movie. She was #1 on Amazon Prime and also #1 in Netflix, last year.
Lovett Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Tbh, she needs something to distract from that horrible music. I knew her latest song was bombing but now I understand why. 1
Jon Snow Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Good for her. I'm happy if she's happy and gets to share her story. I won't be watching though 4
Kingdom Posted January 17 Posted January 17 It looks corny and cringe as hell....i hate the cinematography. It looks very digitalised. 1
Kingdom Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Also to the OP: Every movie is a visual...let us use our brains in 2024. Yikes
Khal Posted January 17 Posted January 17 "Visual movie" as opposed to audio movie? Fingers crossed the quality of the visuals match the music, because that first single was not it, at all.
ForeverJLO Posted January 17 Posted January 17 To those saying the movie will flop… you do realize she has had massive success with the streamers right? She’s done insanely well on netflix, prime & peacock with her films. The Mother was literally the most streamed movie of the year last year. this is brilliant and y’all are sooo pressed LOL 1

But it was not a Jlo album film or whatever I think some people might be still interested in her as an actress especially if she attaches herself to other projects But realistically she hasn’t really being relevant in music since 2005, aside from one hit in 2011.
favorite crime Posted January 17 Posted January 17 not jlo inventing visual movies, maybe she'll release listenable music next 1

Marry Me was also a #1 movie, and it was a full JLo album OST (with Maluma) ^^
