pinkbowvintage Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Ariana has finally, FINALLY come into her own as an artist. This is career-defining work. I'm just so proud and excited for what's next. 3

Dr. Alexander Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I have to say, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Max Martin because I always believed he was one dimensional, and I thought he was a fraud. I even referred to him as “Max Manure” all the time. I want to take back everything that I said because he proved to me that he is so much more than a formulaic, one dimensional pop producer, and that the rumor of his team doing all the work for him was completely false. But also, this just makes me side eye her other albums because I’m wondering how would they have turned out if she never brought in others in the studio. I wonder how her discography would’ve been if she only wrote on them and only had Max and Ilya executive producing. This album showed me she was capable all along of being alone in the studio. 1

Dr. Alexander Posted March 10 Posted March 10 (edited) This whole time I was dragging Max Martin and called Tommy + Victoria her Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and the whole time it was actually Max. I was so wrong. I didn’t want to admit this but I cant hold it anymore Edited March 10 by Dr. Alexander

Be Best The Boy is Mine (the clear winner) Bye True Story Ordinary Things Imperfect for You Don't Wanna Break Up Again Eternal Sunshine We Can't Be Friends (reminds me of Robyn's Dancing On My Own) After 3, it gets hard to rank. Solid: I Wish I Hated You Supernatural Yes, And? Her harmonies and melodies are on point. With her previous albums, there were a handful of excellent standout tracks. But this album is -- by far -- more cohesive, quality consistent, and listenable. I surprisingly do not hate or find any track that I'm indifferent to. There aren't any bad or filler tracks. Ordinary Things is a perfect closer. There are a lot of elements to a few of the songs that seem to be the solidification of what might be her "signature" sound a la "Imagine" in a few of these tracks. I do wish "Yes, And?" really tapped into more of Mariah's sensibilities of how she actually handles remixes. I would even imagine that Ariana would have been perfectly fine with a complete reworking of her track with both of them laying down new vocals but I suspect Mariah didn't want to assert that kind of dominance on a song that ain't hers. Ordinary things love 1

skwonderfactory Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Hi all! I am wondering if someone can please be so ever kind and scan the alternative album booklet, inside cover, and back cover for eternal sunshine. Specifically the one featured starting at 4:57 in this unboxing video: I would love to have all the photos in HQ and to be able to make and provide a digital edition for everyone. Thank you!! 1

Like what ? This is clearly a progression from the sound of Positions/ Thank you next. There's a few moments that are reminiscent of Me. I Am Mariah. but ari has always paid homage to Mimi with every album, so it's kind of expected by now.

justin. Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I'm sad I missed out on the signed cd's. This is her greatest body of work, and it would be so nice to have a signed copy.

The Elusive Chanteuse album is, in a somewhat similar way, a divorce album(or a pre-divorce album as her and her ex-husband hadn’t gone that far yet). “bye” really reminds me of “You Don’t Know What To Do” from Mariah’s album though. Yeah I can hear that actually. Definitely the verses.

duybeeGAshantiGA Posted March 10 Posted March 10 So I guess I wish I hated you is the most inspired song by Imogen Hips on this album? 1
