The tweet is questionable. There was no class to what Gaga did with Judas even though it's one of her best songs. It was attention seeking and rightfully hurt her era. She didn't even need it; she had stronger singles to pick from and, unlike Lil Nas, talent

 

And there was certainly no class to Roman Holiday jesus, that was a bad high school play.

 

Madonna's LAP remains the only classy merge of pop, religion and attention wh*ring, her power 

 

Anyway I don't think Nas is setting out to imitate Madonna directly and no one is setting out to imitate the other two songs for sure. He's trying to re-do Montero. And it won't work

This isn’t the big brain take you guys think it is. It takes 5 seconds of effort to type “ew, annoying, we don’t care and won’t be streaming” and then never think about it again. It doesn’t mean everyone will be ‘perched!!!’ on release day.

It’s not a big brain take because it’s bottom of the barrel behavior. The code is right there: people can’t help but condemn the things they dislike. Social media emboldens people’s disdains, and LNX knows exactly how to rile people up. Whether -those- people listen to his music or not doesn’t matter, when the only purpose they served was drumming up attention for -others- to know his music is releasing.
