And still no Spotify playlisting now, what is wrong with his team? It could be a moderate hit and they messed it up :rip:

Yes, It's done. He fell another 10-15 spots on the artists chart on Spotify (before the songs chart revealed) and it's just... dead. You can't do it with not one playlist placement.

Spotify is bad but considering the lack of playlists se can’t it out yet. The AM numbers are good which mean people respond well to the song apparently.

Apple Music (WW)

1st day: #48

2nd day: #36 (+12)

3rd day : #35 (+1)
4th day : #32 (+3)

up #14 (+9) on Shazam US with 88k.
The video on YT debuted with less than 1M and it did +650k in its 4th dso it’s holding up nicely there too

People in this thread keep saying why didn’t his team do more?! anyone who has stanned JT knows him and his team operate and have always operated like it’s still 2006. And that’s no shade but there’s a level of arrogance there and I’m not sure why. JT has to essentially rebuild a fan base since his original core audience has moved on.

Not surprised this flopped, doing SNL and Fallon was a great promo schedule…. 10 years ago. I still think the album will be good. Maybe they should just release a whole new single.

When he has no playlists and like someone here saying, needs to build his fanbase again. I do agree it's fine, but it won't work without his team really making an effort, we're not in 2006 anymore, SNL doesn't have any effect, let's face it.

lol, payola who? where? On radio? it won't effect first week...

And no one knows if even after, but yeah, you can't do well as an 2000's artist on Spotify without pushing it at first, and they didn't do that for sure.

his first single somehow always don't do better than his second single (with the exception of Sexyback) so i won't be surprised if Sanctified (if that's the second single) will be bigger and pushed more (it already had NFL ad promo + being his first song on SNL)

When he has no playlists

He's #1 on New Music Friday, #1 on It’s A Hit! and #2 on Pop Up. He's not on TTH but that doesn't mean the song was buried. He has decent playlist support and the song is doing decently, accordingly.

His first three albums are honestly one of the greatest runs in pop history. You can never count anybody out who delivered that level of quality three times in a row.

This has clicked for me now, and I agree with Charlie Puth, it’s a really good song, although it does surprise me as a lead single choice because it’s very midtempo and minimal in production. Maybe this was released first because it’s something relatively safe for radio, and then “Sanctified” will be the big event single leading up to the album.

I'm obsessed with this. I have it on repeat.

OK really NMF relevant after 5 days? No.

IT's not just TTH, it's not Hot Hits in any country (in the UK that's the most important one)

And of course no TTH as mentioned, it's a VERY weak spotify support. We can see why in AM he's doing much better.

definitely feel he is relatively 'new' to young gens and interest that his team choose to promo as traditional.

if album marketing POV is mainly focus on vinyl sales then i'd get that based on the song.

something tell me he got surprise on next single which will not sound total bore as this. :psych:

I completely agree. My fave, who is on the same label, also suffers from this. I think it's their team tbh.

When I heard he was performing it on SNL, doing the cliché talk show circuit, etc. I was like this all feels very old school and outdated. But I guess they think since his fanbase skews older, they'll just do the same thing over and over since it's worked in the past.

it used to have a huge effect that it was almost guaranteed a giant boost.
