discussion Favourite GTA Game?

With GTA 6 releasing in 2025, I plan on replaying all the releases before then. I’ve never completed Vice City, It’s expansion nor have I played the handheld games

 

To me, San Andreas is my personal favourite. I grew up with this game and know the map better than I know my own city  Growing up, I never realized how important that game was as a black kid. Having a black protagonist in a black setting was groundbreaking for the series and the game implemented a lot of features and mechanics that we still have today. Not to mention the soundtrack was a 30/10. There’s so many songs I wouldn’t have never heard or listened to on my own had it not been for this game. Every radio station has its own charm and there’s not a SINGLE skip.

vice city stories will always have a special place for me. i still play it 

 

5 kinda feels nostalgic for some reason now (probably because i've been playing it for 10 years across multiple formats)

Honestly, GTA VCS has my favourite story.

I lowkey wish they did it with GTA V too  it would’ve been nice to play as Lamar before the events leading up to the main story or afterwards. GTA IV was a trailblazer

I sadly didn’t finish it bc my ps at the time conked out on me in middle but I ended up buying the game again during the pandemic but it’s still unopened  can’t wait to play it again!

San Andreas was a life changer. The graphics are obviously dated as **** but the gameplay still holds up. And the soundtrack is above and beyond the best

GTA SA easily clears because of the misandrist queen Catalina and the hot blind dude Woozie.

 

I have a feeling GTA 6 will stomp though, Lucia's already giving and the story seems like it's gonna be more grounded and have depth like 4

Obviously V is on a different level to the rest of them but I LOVED Vice City Stories. I used to spend hours building up my businesses and defending them from rival gangs. And the story was so interesting too and actually had me interested unlike some of the other entries  

 

Also when I finally visited Miami in real life I was astonished at how accurately they captured the vibe of the city

Love all the PS2 titles.

 

Liberty City Stories & Vice City Stories both extremely underrated. My fave is San Andreas though.
