Topaz Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Only two eras I see that basically lasted 3+ years with extreme longevity. I dont see people talking about how SZA did that with RnB Good Days - #9 peak I Hate U - #7 peak No Love - #13 peak Shirt - #11 peak Nobody Gets Me - #10 peak Kill Bill - #1 peak Snooze - #2 peak Kiss Me More - #3 peak Slime You Out - #1 peak Rich Baby Daddy - #11 peak
TalkThatRihanna Posted January 5 Posted January 5 In the US 100%, not even a comparison. FN probably did better WW 9
CottageHore Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Both feel massive but in very different ways. The singles leading up to SZA just felt like droplets that got good success just because they felt like non-events. The thing with Future Nostalgia is each single had so much time and room to breathe which made the entire album so ubiquitous. 1
unclefloprry Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) In the US? Yes. WW? not even close. Edited January 5 by unclefloprry
jakeisphat Posted January 5 Posted January 5 It took almost 3 years for FN to sell 3M units in the US - SOS sold 4.5M units in just 11 months. So yes, in the United States. 2
Digitalism Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Outside of the US nobody nows what a SZA is even if they may have heard it on tiktok 1 7

Planet Mars Posted January 5 Posted January 5 SOS is probably the biggest era by a woman this decade after Midnights, and even then it's almost as big as the latter. 1
State of Grace. OT: Definitely in the US. Globally it's still FN. 3
byzantium Posted January 5 Posted January 5 SOS was bigger worldwide but Future Nostalgia was bigger in the US

I know you take every opportunity to discredit Dua's success, but come on, I didn't want to do this. Official Charts FN - 15 #1s SOS 6 #1s Certifications outside the US FN - 2.2M SOS - 650K Streams FN - 11.6B SOS - 6.5B Views on YouTube (Still a big streaming platform in Asia and Latin America) FN - 3B (6 videos of 6 official singles from the standard version) SOS - 332M (6 videos of 6 official singles) And now, if I compare the singles, it's even worse for SZA, it's not a fair comparison at this point. What SZA did is incredible for an R&B singer, since that genre is not consumed ww like pop music. 5

Dua promoted the sh*t out of that album in every place imaginable on the planet Earth and her singles never left from the playlists for a whole 3 years. Of course she did better worldwide than someone who barely even promoted her album in the US.
Cyanide Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Definitely SOS everywhere. Even with all the white privilege, budget, and promotion in the world she couldn’t match the success of SOS!

This makes no sense. She is huge celebrity in Europe and Latam She appears on the news a lot. She is a GP girl. SZA music may have success but nobody knows her and of course it is because of racism but saying is bigger WW makes no sense Edited January 5 by Digitalism 1

Polgg48 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 i dont see any performances promo interview cultural impact talking about sza daily except inflated numbers which only exist in anglosphere. FN era made dua main pop girl but sza already established long ago.
