So….instead of voting for another democrat, like potential popular candidate, RFK Jr, they’d rather sit out and/or elect someone who straight up hates them. Very smart.. quite literally the expression of cutting off your nose to spite your face

Is that "another democrat" in the room with us right now?

When their options are either Joe or Donald "Muslim Ban" Trump, it wouldn't be surprising if they sit out this election. What a sad state of things. I hope Democrats can do something to win these people back, but I don't even know what that would entail.

Easy. Remove Biden from the ticket and allow a younger but experienced progressive voice to run.

As an Independent who leans Democratic, with a progressive agenda, it is heartbreaking to watch the Democratic Party do everything possible to torpedo their chances of a sitting President in the White House.

Maybe let people vote for who they want. This expectation for certain demographics to vote a certain way is creepy as hell

Well, under Trump there will be no Palestine as state at all, he probably can't wait to erase them completely from planet Earth, plus deport and prosecute every muslim in US.

That is already the case under Biden, who is allowing an ethnic cleansing to move right under his nose as he gives unconditional financial and military support to the effort.

This attempt at blackmail is just a total flop. It’s not going to work

I don't think they want Trump, but withholding votes is the only way to influence our leaders.

Not necessarily a responding to you personally, but more the sentiment in your reply that a lot of these people hold regarding Biden:

Did this work last time when people "abandoned" Hillary during Trump's first run? :suburban:

It always feels like the American left sits on their asses when Dems hold the office, but the second an election is on the table they throw tantrums and refuse to vote. Obviously the democrat establishment is beyond f*cked but surely there's so much more that can be done when we have a foot in the door versus the chaotic Republicans with Hitler Jr at the head of the table? :celestial5:

biden is funding genocide in gaza, sending weapons to israel so they can bomb palestine, syria & lebanon, bombing iraq, bombing yemen

and democrats expect arabs (both muslim & christians), middle easterners in general and muslim in general to support him? And they show their true faces with their racist comments too

we don't know what trump will do, but what we know for sure is that biden is participating in a genocide against Palestinians

it's funny how democrats only way to try to convince us to vote for them is that "trump WILL x" "trump is GONNA do x", I didn't know so many democrats were psychics!

We already saw Trump achievements during his first term. He did absolutely nothing good, all these wars, Covid deaths and crisis after crisis thanks to him and his stupid decisions:gaycat2: Lifted sanctions against Russia, friendly meetings with dictator Kim ... travesty of it all, and then you're curious why all this $hit keep happening all around the world :gaycat6:

Is it really a democracy if you have to vote for the less evil…and it’s not only apply to the US unfortunately.

Everyone asking for a more progressive candidate right now is utterly delusional, a fairly significant percentage of Dem voters in swing states are latinos or descendants of latinos that will absolutely refuse to vote for anything progressive for the next generation. It already happened in Florida with Cubans turning Republican in a few years and it will happen eventually with Venezuelans and Central Americans too.

Leave it to Americans to hand their nation over to fascists willingly because of conflict in a foreign country!

I don't think it's *their* religion making them feel unable to vote for a candidate who believes 22,000 Palestinians deserve to be slaughtered and that Zionism is part of a greater Christian - not Jewish - prophecy related to Biden's faith.

I appreciate your perspective, and I respect the importance of separating personal beliefs from political decisions. I believe it's essential for religious leaders and groups to avoid interference in public affairs to maintain a fair and inclusive democratic process.

I really don't mean to be rude but both of these posts are so inaccurate that they veer into political illiteracy.

Latino Americans are often the biggest supporters of economic populism and were the base of Sanders' 2020 run.

Let alone that Latino Americans are no fan of Biden *already* given both his right-wing history on immigration law AND that he is trying to get Senate Dems to sign on banning forms of asylum to get Republicans to agree to Israel + Ukraine aid.

How so? What Israel is doing in Palestine is a war crime and a genocide. I was referring to it as a conflict in passing, didn't mean to minimize Israel's actions.

:sistrens:

I mean it's not any other "conflict in a foreign country" since a) Israel is basically the unofficial 51st American state and b) Israel is a *settler colonial state. So the US is very much involved in it when the children are being killed with American-made weapons and bombs.

Biden sending aid to Israel still sounds very fascist to me!

No one is handing anything over, we are screaming from the rooftops BEFORE the primary that we don’t want Joe yet the Dems have refused to have debates, let others on some ballots, etc. It’s the party that is handing this election over.
