I actually love EVERGLOW and they have some amazing songs like First, Pirate, and Bon Bon Chocolat

but Slay is probably the biggest DUD of 2023 and a stain on their perfect discography

The few concept photos I've seen are giving Japanese girl band if anything, ala Shishamo, Lovebites, Scandal among many or more recently QWER. I'd expect a poppier sound to go along that more kitch, a bit whimsical, gen Z Japanese aesthetic with a focus on promotion in Japan. They also have 2 Japanese members.

 

As a comparison, Newjeans feel and look a lot more Westernized.
