YG himself was always invloved in everything, even if he wasn't vocal about it. Lee Hi said how every decision about music/MV/concept/styling had to go through YG and be approved, that's why everything is happening so slow in the company, and YG could only do like 6 comebacks a year for their artists. That's why Lee Hi left.
