The demo of the song was in the bag as well, that's why the MV starts with YG sending those people to deliver it to BM.

Have no idea who they are, but let me guess, a hip hop concept?

I know that Newjeans praise feels sometimes overblown but i genuinely find them so refreshing! The way they put all their energy into a song as lowkey as How Sweet/Supernatural and have fun in their performances where they make it look effortless is amazing. They gotta announce their concert dates soon!!

Is not bad but is weird considering last year they had interludes with 2M daily streams on the global charts.

The good playlisting is still there so I don't know what happened to their internation power in Spotify.

Oh come on! From what I've seen this Newjeans is marketed for the Japanese market and as long as this is being categorised for JP the numbers will be way lower than if it was promoted for KR. I bet aespa Hot Mess numbers won't be as near as Armageddon or Supernova even if the song was totally in English because like it or not that's how it works

The new Babymonster is giving Itzy lowkey

newjeans is doing great but I think we can all admit they're not doing the same as their debut, ditto/omg and super shy

I think its because of the release strategy tbh. even me as a fan was confused as hell. the music is also sounding a bit repetitive now but I enjoy them all personally but I get when people say that

I find it so funny how fans of certain groups think BTS or their company have ulterior motives for releasing around the same time as their own faves when overlaps happen within BTS all the time :chick1: They are just not threatened lmao.

Hot mess has been promoted as a Japan single since the beginning. I'm sure most Nj listeners didn't know it'd be a Japanese debut because MHJ has never been clear with how she'll promote the 2 singles albums.
They have a global distribution, have a Korean version, as much playlisting as other GG,they'll promote on music shows this is basically a Korean cb. This isn't the same.

I actually get what you're saying

the releases were so confusing this era for newjeans. even me as a fan was still confused and thought bubble gum was like the japanese single or something :deadbanana:

all the 4 releases were treated like a normal korean comeback tbh

Alright, let's say the numbers are lower because it has a few JP lyrics, then what about How Sweet/Bubble Gum?

It kinda looks like ILLIT stole their global appeal.

btw I'm not expecting Hot Mess to pull great numbers too.

I would be surprised if it gets at least 1M daily. Aespa streaming numbers look better nowadays but I think it still depends on the song and if k pop fans truly click with it.

I feel like international fans won't like it as much since it sounds too kpop

Are you really pretending nothing happened with them and the last two releases were done in a normal scenario?

95% of the international fans hate MHJ and the girls siding with her made them lose a lot of support. It's not rocket science. Only time will tell if they can bounce back or not.

So are you telling me that casual listeners, as you all claimed last year, stopped streaming NewJeans new music because of the HYBE thing?

You really think the average people cared to the extent of not streaming their new music?

If people were truly turned off by the whole scandal, then why ILLIT was not affected in KR or in the global charts?

The public was more in favor of MHJ in KR but we still see the ILLIT song having longevity over there.
